Hey, Im just wondering if anyone knows where you can find a supercharger for a 99' and up Grand Am Gt. I know that Eaton Co. made one but they only sold like 14 of them and stoped making them. I only know of 3 Grand Am's today that are supercharged. Also if you supercharge you GA, would you think that you would need to BEEF up your car with... lets say; Trans, Intercooler, PCM, exhaust, and a good intake? Because my friend suped up his Grand Prix GTP, by putting a new pully on it and he had to put an intercooler for the trans on there and new PCM with exaust and cold air intake. If anyone knows where to find a new supercharger for a GA leave a subthread for me. Thanks!

The only SC kit available is made by RSM, as stated earlier. If you do go SC, a tranny cooler is a must. A free-flowing intake and exhaust would help greatly. ;)

Does anyone know of an Eaton SC for sale right now? And how much money do these SC normally run?I'm talking about the same SC that is pictured on the GA on APOC.com.

Yea I have almost $6-7k to spend on it so i want to get the best of the best parts and this kind of mod will void my warranty which I have 28000 miles left on (36000 std warr.) so I dont want anyproblems with mickey mouse parts...

But anywho... I was talking to the guys from "Layin' Low" they do all kinds of air bag suspensions n things of that nature and they said I am going to need: SuperCharger Kit, intercooler, cold air intake(fender mod), computer, and hollow the cat cuz its illegal to take it off in michigan and thats about it except for some new belts and gauges. Total of about $6,250.00

i don't know about hollowing your cat. do u have any emmission laws in michigan. ur best bet may be to go with a high flow cat. and before ya do the cat it would probably be best to get a cat back exhaust and some headers if ya have the money.

There is no emissions laws in michigan! Any shop will remove your cat for a modest fee. There is no law! Those of you liven in michigan have to understand this and use it to there advantage! Any shop will remove it!
S/C will cost you anywhere from $3k-$7k, this is not a joke, $3k if you install yourself.

Actually in MI, you are not allowed to remove/modify your cat legally unless the vehicle's is defective or is 5yrs or 50,000miles old. I haven't had a problem of running without, have since 40k, have 65k now. Been stopped 6 times for loud exhuast, no tickets and no complaints. :D

My car had the Eaton SC. Only upgrades to go with it were borla exhaust and cold air intake.

What i meant is he can actually go to a random shop and ask to have it taken off and replaced with a pipe, 9 out of 10 shops will say, "sure no problem". Its michigan and there are no inspections and most shops know this and have no problem doing it.

Yes and No, technically they are not supposed to, however most will. In the midland area its hard as hell to find someone to do it. I was looking to change the piping there, I allready don't have a cat. I wanted to get the SLP flange cut off and changed to 2.5" and change some other stuff up there. Well so far every shop I have talked to here said no way in hell. However the place I had it cut off at didn't care either way, too bad they are too far away now.

Man just come to grand rapids. My girls dad owns 3 muffler mans and all his shops will do anything you are willing to pay for. Just come to Grand Rapids and go to every shop you can find, chances are, the first place ya go will do it.

Next time I make it down I will def. look into it. I will probably be down in that area once I install my headers. ;)

Yeah im workin on gettin DHP myself. Leaking intake gasket drained the ole account, but soon enough. Kinda funny, i have headers and tryin to get DHP and you have DHP and tryin to get headers. MGM is gonna be full of fast GA's this year. And hey if ya cant find a place that will do what ya need we can go to my hook up and they will do what ya need. Its in Ludington though.

I am not too horribly worried, I know of a place in my home town that will do it, now I just need to drive it in open header, with out getting stopped.

Once you get your DHP, you will love it.

DHP is my missing link to my mods right now. Im mad that i wont have it for the first MGM this spring. Soon enough though.
