Hey guys,
I just recently got 3 8 inch w6s and need to wire them up to my jl 500/1. How can i go about doing this. I see the manual and still dont understand. Do i put one pos on one side and the other on the other and have a seperate speaker wire connect the middle one or what.

Ok. #1, read the manaul and wire it up exactly how the pictures are set up. I know it doesnt seem like much advice but its all I can give because thats I they used for my subs.

I have never used a 3 way setup.. However I have seen and heard them. Nice! But if you have a single channel amp or 2 channel , you need to figure out the ohms. Do you wanna wire in series or pararel? If you need help with this PM me. I can do some research and figure out your setup..

if I'm not mistaken the W6's are dual 6 ohm V.C's

ok, since i know both of the products that you have heres how it goes...

1) take each of hte subs, and run the coils in series. to do this, take the (-) on one end and run a wire to the (+) on the other end of the same sub. do that to all.

2) then take one speaker wire, split the (+) and (-) for a few inches. turn each end into 3 wires(crimp on 3 wires). Now youll have a total of 6 ends.

3) each sub should still have a (+) and a (-) available. run each of those leads to the remaining spot on the subs.

4) conenct up the other end of that speaker wire to the 500/1 using any of the two (+) terminals and any of the (-) terminals.

5) check your work with a multimeter and see what the Ohm lating is. as long as youre between 1.5 and 4 ohms youre fine with that amp.

Pretty much, the exact instructions JL gives you. Sorry, didnt think it was difficult but that probably becasue I only have 2 subs, not 3

thanks guys, but after i connect one pos and neg together across on all three subs and still have a pos and neg left on each. Do i take three seperate speaker wires and take one side of all three and twist them together and stick them in the amp + and the other side stick one into each of the subs + or what.

THanks for replies
