Unknown Sounds

I just installed my Stage 3 CAI from Doctor Speed yesterday and since then I have been noticing a whisle sound coming from the engine bay when I let off of the accellerater.I don't no what it is but it kinda sounds like a vacum leak somewhere.I have checked and re-checked all my couplers and clamps and they are all tight.I wonder if it could be an intake manifold gasket or something to that effect.Has anyone else had this problem,or has anyone else experienced this Sound after installing a CAI?

My Hyundai Accent sounds like it has a turbo from the air escaping its WAI when you shift...heh...

All the sound is is the air suction from the intake making that noise.

Thats what I figured but it I've never heard that sound before on other CAI's that I have installed,so I figured it was a vacum leak or something.It actually does sound kinda like a turbo scrolling down.

I can't afford the turbo right now, so a CAI would have to do. It's still a sweet sound, but nothing can beath the phssssssss of the turbo :D

The whine from a super sure as hell can. But thats just my opinion. BOV kick ass though.

I love the sounds that a turbo makes, especially when its spooling up and blowing off. BTW, how much does a turbo setup for a v6 grand am cost?

went to car show acouple days ago and saw the saturn ion redline SC eco.... :drool: also saw the saab 9-3 with turbo eco, i liked the SC better... a supercharger is definatly gonna happen sooner or later even if i have to get a second and third job

Depends on the turbo you want(most are universal) but the custom piping for it and a intercooler and everything can possibly be around 1500 in extra parts.

I had to show a kid that i dint have a SC becuase he thought i did becuase he could hear my CAI. The whistle is quite LOUD. I have learned how to get it to whistle when i want to. Sweet @ss sound IMO.

I installed a custom CAI but for some reason it doesnt sound too loud. Although i have flowmasters, and they are very loud. Do you think the flows are drowning out the noise from my CAI? When my engine revs a lot, i can clearly hear the CAI, but if i have my window down while normally driving, i can hear the suction... just not that loud. Do i need to do something to my mass airflow sensor to my my CAI work better?
