You could definately put more speakers back there with some custom fiberglass, but I don't think its going to sound all that great unless you like having the majority of your music sounding like its behind you......

Yes, its possible.
Easy? No
But possible.
If you're passionate about it, go nuts man, and good luck. I'll try to get some pictures, but I did something like this in a friend's 93' Talon, but it was just 6x8 component set. Its tricky, its messy, and its complicated, but man, its all worth it in the end :D.
It looks great.
As for what ninteen88ga said, you can use your HU to adjust the speaker outputs, so it wont sound like its all coming from the back.
Plus, unless you split the rear channels, and then amplify them, you're gonna be getting less output from them anyways.
You'll most likely need to do some heavy fabrication to put in extra speakers. I'm not sure if you could make the baffle out of that rear panel under the windshield (not enough room for the magnet structure maybe???), otherwise you could put them on the side panels in the rear (next to where the passengers would sit)
If you have a 2 door, then you can probably picture this (actually, that pic above is what I mean :) ). If its a 4 door, then you could put the speakers in the door panels, just like the front doors.
Good luck man, and remember, nothing worth doing is ever easy
