I just took my 2001 GAGT to Muffler Man today and I was told that there isn't enough room to fit the muffler in there. I know a lot of you have Flowmasters on you GA's so what is up? Are they right... b/c I don't want to have to get the whole Cat-Back System (too much $$$). All I am lookin for is a flowmaster prolly either 40 or 80 series... and some decent tips. So anyone have any suggestions? Any ideas?

you have the muffler w/you when you went or did you tell them what kind of muffler your getting and they looked to see if it would fit? If you didn't have the muffler thats a typical answer you'll get especially if the shop isn't one of the best locally,i had a similar problem. The FlowMaster 40 series i've been hearing you have to have it sideways to make it fit and have to run a pipe from one side to the drivers side,i dunno, ive never really seen the undercarriage of a 99+ GA but know a FlowMaster should and could fit knowing that there is quite a few ppl here with them.

Yeah I was told the same thing. It was a local muffler and body shop. He said he didnt even want to mess with it. THen I took it to centinnial muffler and tire and they hooked me up the next day for 43 dollars. So just look around it all fits.

Hey man Grand Rapids here to! Sorry off topic.
Alot of places will tell you that it wont fit. Best thing to do is buy the muffler and take it in there and show them the muffler. Some shops are DUMB as a box of rocks.

the muffler WILL fit, but it may not fit like you want it to. you have to mount it sideways. my fiance has one on her car and i didn't even put a tailpipe on it. i put a turndown on it.

like i said before. if you're wanting tips go with the 80 series. buy it yourself or the place that sells it will bend you over the counter for what they're gonna charge.

usually it's best not to ask, they might be having a bad day or just be stupid. just go in and tell them you want a 40/80 series. if they tell you it wont fit ask why. if they say that there's not enough room ask them why you can't mount it sideways. see what kind of line they give you then. :P

Hey guys thanx for all your help. I just took it to another local shop and they said that I just needed the right kind. They put on the Camero style V - Force. They told me it was just as good as the Flowmaster... if not better. I love the sound of it... I will try and get some sound clips up soon. Still need some good tips.... know where you can get the oval shaped ones?
