got my 3 8 inch w6s intalled

Heyguys,
I had my 8 inch w6's installed and i think one of the subs are broken. It makes a weird vibrating hissing sound when the subs are on and is really annoying. It is just one of the subs, I got 3.

Anything I could do about this?

its possible that one of the speaker wires is hitting the back of the cone. if thats not the case then its probably got a loose dust cap. did you buy em new or used? was it from a dealer or a private party?

they were new...(i think, at least that is what he told me) and i got them from a guy at grandamgt.com. It is a very weird sound and I'm kind of mad about this. I installed it myself with the help of a friend that works at a car audio store.

I think is that the vioce coils are blown on them.. They can be repaired but u would have to bring them to a audio shop that sells JL Audio equipment..

There is some grinding when i push down on the sub but it still goesin and out....someone said to get the voice coils reconed.
Does anyone know how much this cost?

the voice coils cant be reoned, but the subs can be recopned, but only by JL audio. after shipping it might end up costing too much, id recommend just finding another 8w6
