I've gone through the forums looking for the answer to one simple question and I've yet to find a straight answer :( (probably because I haven't asked the question myself)

Anyways...
I want to replace my stock Monsoon HU, but keep all the functions associated with it (i.e.-steering wheel controls, chimes, and other associated functions). Is there a single harness that allows me to do that?
Also, is it possible to use the Monsoon amp with aftermarket speakers, if so how would I wire them (I've already looked at the rear connection, 2+ & 2- ?)?

Future system:
Pioneer AVH-6500DVD
RF Component
RF 3-way 6x9
RF 851S Amp
(2) RF 12" HX2 Subs w/ custom box

ok, youre looking at several issues here.

1) steering wheel controls: the only way to retain them with the new stereo is to use a piece called SWIX made by PAC. its about $80.

2) retain chimes: theres several modules out there that will allow this. none of them have anything to do with the steering wheel controls. the PAC part is model C2r-GM24 (GM chime interface)

3) yes you can use aftermarket speakers with the monsson amp, but they wont be as loud. the monsson runs (i believe) at 2 ohms to each speaker. as far as having two sets of speaker wires going to the rear 6x9s, they are " dual voice coil" but im pretty sure that they are crossed over, and each set plays different frequencies. easiest way to tell is look at the old speaker. if one set of leads runs to the tweeter and the other runs to the woofer then use the woofer lead for your new speakers. if they both run to the woofer then just choose one and go with it.
