Hey i was looking around on this site to see what people thought the best xenon headlight was. So far it looks like everyones sold on the Sylvania Silverstar, but what about the Street Glow Xenons? I mean they have a 100W output for the 9005's. I dont care if they're illegal, who's gonna know if i switch to lows everytime a car comes? Plus will the wiring be able to handle the 100W load? What i need is someone who can tell me the difference between them who acctually knows what the difference is, like someone who has owned both or seen the output of both in real life. Thanks to all who reply.

i dont think the plastic housing itself will handle the 100W lights....regardless if the wire will take it or not, which i really dont think it will.
there's someone on here that posted about 100 watt lights the other day and they said they hadn't had any troubles though.
i dont know of anyone using the street glows around here, but my fiance has silverstars in her car. i could tell a difference in the low beams, but there's not a big difference between the high/low. but you have composite (2 bulbs) so it might make a big difference

Go with the silverstars they are definately the brightest.
The streetglows are that ricer blue color but if thats what you want then more power to ya.

no i dont want to make my car a ricer thats for sure! I want to find the brightest and whitest lights i can without going to true HID (thats way out of my budget). I've got this problem in wisconsin with animals, big deer. So I wanna make sure i see them ahead of time, and of course so they look cool!

ricer blue, hahaha... kinda like puttin sc/t on your car if you dont have the sc/t hood, sc/t wing, sc/t body kit, and supercharger :roll2:

the sc/t didn't come with a supercharger. the sc/t package is strictly aesthetic

well evidently it wasn't too true....it didn't make it to production. try again fuzzy wuzzy. that's why it's called a CONCEPT, because not everything is going to make it to production......for some reason the s/c didn't make it to production. and if you meant the "real" sc/t (i.e. concept) you should have stated that's what you meant

I've been looking around at some posts on Silverstars and this one guy had a pic that was supposed to be the silverstars lit up, but they looked dull and yellow. If anyone has a pic of their headlights (Silverstars, or Street Glow i guess) send 'em!

WELL! silverstars are bright and look good i have them ;)
and street glow was used in Fast and the Furious so they add 20HP and give you that 'your entering hyper space feel and look when you floor it' so its your choice man.

silverstars are a more stock color that is a little whiter.
and the streetglows are the "hid" lol look blue. I had to add the LOL in because i know what hids look like and its nothing even remotely close to streetglow bulbs.

Silverstars Owns YoU! I got them a few weeks ago and drove at night for 2 hours. They are very white and very bright. I also got the turn signal Silverstars and they are brighter than stock, but I also got them for their look while they are off. The bulb is not the usual amber color, but it is hard to explain. Take a look at the Sylvania website. The next step is to get my Silverstar fogs. Oh yeah.

hey mike2003mk, what the hell's up with the highs? Mine are the same way, exactly the same. I personally don't know how to fix it exactly.

wish i knew, i just figured mine were off but if your having the same problem maybe there susposed to be like that, really if you think about it you can't have the lows and highs to both be level, but who knows.....i hate it

i think they are supposed to be like that, what would be the point of 2 brightass lights shining in the exact same place, one is for farther, one is for closer, and the fogs are for really close
mike2003mk

yea that would be the logical reason for it, but it looks stupid as hell

I've seen some cars with the Silverstars and they are a pure white.I've got some Nokya Artic Whites(blue look to them at night/day) I'm very impressed with them,i see everything fine and even in the rain which most people have said the bulbs that have the HID look suck during the rain, not these, they are bright to,my friend has the same in his Neon and he got behind me and it was deffly bright, but these were just the low beams,im still waitning for my highs.

i used to have that problem........maybe when you put the headlight peice back in it was not sitting properly....at the back and bottom of the headlight there is a tab that fits in snuggly into the headlight bracket you can see it jus jimmy it around till it gets to be perfect! see if that helps and
where did you get those silverstars are they really much better than those plain ones u get from like chinese stores?

I have the silverstar turn signals, headlights, and fog light. Althought i cant compare them to any other headlights than stock they are much better than those. They just seem whiter! I am pleased. As long as they dont burn out fast i will keep them.. Althought i want to tint my headlights, and i am not sure how they will hold up after that. I guess we will see when the time comes
