Depends on what you're looking to do with it... Do you want bass, or clarity, or a mix? You can easily replace them yourself, it's not hard at all. The best thing about replacing our stock front speakers is the ability to go up a size to 5 1/4 or even 6 1/2's. You get MUCH better sound out of either of those sizes than our stock 4x6's.

:agree: and if you're wanting to stay real simple right now or dont have a lot of cash you can get a factory replacement from the dealer, junk yard, or someone that's already replaced thier speakers and dont want the old ones anymore.

Well, it's really easy to get them in there, don't worry about the fit. With only 100 bucks, you're not gonna find anything too nice, but look at Alpine Type S 6 1/2's or some mid-level Polk... Both those speakers give out some nice bass even from the stock HU. If you're looking for a really clear sound, then go with Infinity Reference... I'm sure other people have their own opinions, too! :)

You can get Type S 6 1/2's from Circuit City, mostly any place that sells Alpne will have the Type S's available. If your looking to upgrade to 5 1/4" or 6 1/2's Metra has speaker adaptors that make them adaptable to a 4x6" opening. These adaptors for cavaliers and Sunfires, but also will work in a Grand Am.
As far as installing them, you will need to remove the doors. It sounds worse than it realyl is, butif your not comfortable I'd definately let a pro do it.
