Question for Custom Exhaust

So I want to get a Borla system for my 99 2.4L

So i get 2.25'' pipe 5'

How much pipe do I need

How many clamps do i need

TURBO-XL is the muffler im getting because its the only one i see that offers me to get the dual look without using a Y pipe.

And a Pace Setter Hi Flow Cat 2.25''

And a Mantapart Sports Cast Exhaust Manifold

Borla makes a complete cat-back kit for the 99+ Grand Am GT's. It fits and sounds good on the 2.4. I would suggest getting that since it will ultimately be about the same cost as custom, but will have superior mandrel bends.

Yes, 2.25" will minimize low-end loss, when compared to 2.5". This will be a good thing since you have an auto tranny.

custom exhaust is cheaper...if you buy the whole borla kit...your spending about 300-400 dollars...

^666.30 is the cheepest thats with shipping and tax. To bad we couldnt get like 10 or so people to all buy it.

Yes, maybe if your average Joe at your local exhaust joint builds it. Even so, the costs will be about the same.

I wish Borla made a kit for that price on the pre-99's. I've come close to recreating a similar setup, mandrel bends, universal Borla mufflers and all... to the tune of $675 (not including tips, cat, and pre-cat goodies)

actually, Im making a custom cat-back and its going to cost way less than the borla for me. Heres the prices
1) Borla Pro XS universal 2.5" muffler $140
2) Vibrant Performance SS High-Flow Cat $80
3) SS tips ( not sure yet ) $100
4) Mandrel bends $20 a U bend
5) find a nice shop whom I want to weld er up and put er on!
In totall, im looking at about 800 Cdn, not bad considering the borla is 1200$ up here..
