I have heard JL Audio subs and they are clean, i want to purchase a sub system, and i saw audiobahn w/ box that i want, but how do they sound? I dont like to push bass to it can be heard a block away, but i do like to hear it loud & clear at least in my car. What do you recommend?

Go with the JL over Audiobahn anyday... Audiobahn's shit used to be good back in the day, but now it's way overrated, their subs seem to crap out alot, and I hear their amps overheat only after a few months of use... Now, don't get me wrong, Audiobahn's subs SLAM with the right amount of power, but my friend has gone through 3 of those 12" Flame series subs in under a year, and he's only pushing one of those subs with a 400W amp...

I have 4 10" Audiobahn's that I bought from a friend and am only running a 900W amp to them made my Profile. The amp cuts out all the time because it is too small but as far as the subs go, they sound great and have never had any problems with them.

from what ive heard, if you go audiobahn, make sure they are high end stuff, their low end products tend to be cheap and a waste of money. As for JL, well if you kwno me you know I love my JL stuff, hehe even right down to the little W0's, even those things seem to last forever!

Yea, it's not how they sound, it's how long will they last. We picked up the line a few years ago, and I'm willing to bet 95% of the customers we sold them to brought at least 1 of them back. Needless to say we stopped dealing Audiobahn.

If they're the Flame Q series (silver cone, and a crazy huge surround) they require around 1000w RMS. His 400w is WAY underpowering them, and Underpowering is more than likely the reason why he blew them.

When Circuit first started carring Audiobahn, I was skeptical. After doing a few systems with Audiobahn equipment, I realized their stuff is pretty good. I plan on getting a 92 yota pick up (that I will be doing air suspension along with a lot of other work to) and I was going to go with a AW1051T dual voice coil in it. As far as I'm concerned, all there subs are pretty beefy, and seem to be well built. I don't care too much for the "overdecorated" baskets since your not going to be seeing them in 9 out of 10 installs, but the cones and surrounds are pretty decent.

The Amps ehhh they're A LOT of chrome and take up a good amount of space. The spase issue is the only reason I'm not doing their amps in the Yota, but they definately are powerful.

Audiobahn might bee more expensive, but your paying for A LOT of flash on their products. Everythign is crhome with flame accents. A little more work went into their styling compared to say an.....Infinity Reference 12 or an Alpine Type E 12 (both of which are on my top favorite subs list)

Man I've had Audiobahn,JL-audio,Mtx,Fosgate,Kicker,Orion,Cadence,Polk/momo,Viper,Xtant,& even pioneer premier's.It's all about what you are looking for basically.Do you want good clean sound or do you want SPL?Out of all these.I liked these best:1.)JL 2.)Kicker 3.) Alpine type-r's I forgot about these.I had the 12's & 15's of the Alpine.JL's are more versitile and very, very clean!!Also Alphasonik has out some killer subwoofer lines now.Check them out. www.alphasonik.com

audiobahn sucks, plain and simple. those who have it and like it, well the bass from their subs is better than no bass, so of course if youre comparing it to nothing then yea, itll sound great. but put them head to head with anything decent and youll hear a difference.

JBL or Eclipse would be a better choice.

JBL?!? The only good stuff JBL has is their top of the line... And I mean top of the line... Everything else they sell sucks... Their low end subs and amps suck...

Just because a sub is rated at 1000 watts RMS doesn't mean you can't over power them with lower watts. The enclosure helps the suspension by limiting the excursion of the sub, so if you have a sub in a big sealed or ported box it's going to take less watts for it to hit it's peak excursion. You push a sub passed it's peak excursion and it's toast.

From everything I have heard Audiobahn is in the middle, it's no where near the best but it's also not the worst. In the end though, buy what you think sounds best to you. It's your system not ours.

JBL has some good amps though for their price.

Digital Design is just the companys name....the sub is not digital...................:p lol They're awesoome subs though. A few years back there was an Escort with 1 DD 15 in a slot ported snclosure that took up most of the back of the car....holy Sh*t was it crazy loud. Not sure how much power they had pushing it but wow!

my friend Joel(Sound_Xtreme) had i think 4 or 5 10inch Audiobahn's and it sounded good and was rattling his rear opera windows,it was nutts. But I personally love JL,you deffly get what you pay for in this line of stuff.Yes JL is kind of pricey BUT once you hear their subs and get the right amp, whew, you'll love them. They are clean and they can be setup for people who just a little bump and want to hear the highs and lows or just all lows, theres something for everyone with JL,IMO.I don't hate or like AudioBahn, just prefer JL.
