ok, my stock altenator only puts out 60A, which is really sad, especially considering my amp is pulling 50A
ok, here is the question would upgrading to a ho alt. damage anything in the truck, i'm thinking something like a 100A, anybody know of any dangers with putting a larger alt, on a system made for a small one?

your amp is NOT drawing 50 amps...
on a 34hz signal w/ it turned all the way up it may draw 30+, but i hit 140.1 spl on a 40A fuse (1000W amp, 2 12" kicker comps)
so, at a normal cruising listening level, your maybe drawing 15.... but bigger alternator is always better, especialy if ya got upgraded headlights and what not..

all i'm pulling is the headunit and the amp and other stock electrical parts, no power windows and stuff, so u think i should up grade?

i would, anytime you put an unexpected load on it, its gonna greatly reduce the life of the alternator, but, i dont have one, and i am fine, but i am looking for an 120 amp as of now, i dont want my headlights to dim at all... so... its basicly up to you, your headlights dim no? if htat bugs you, get a bigger one

not gonna hurt, but not a necessity :). that's like having more horsepower...never gonna hurt, but do you absolutely need it?? doubtful

yeah, i can care less about hp now, i hit that stage one time but learned it's not worth it, what is 300hp gonna do when you can only go 60mph
