Hey ..I need help tryin to find out where the rattling sound is coming from...anyone having problems wit 99 grand am se with the bass being to much and you start hearin rattling? I know my back license plate is making noise so I fixed that but I still here noise in the back like where the back speakers are. I think the speaker grill/ cover is hitting the metal but im not sure how to take the grill off. Also my front rearview mirror is vibrating and then it makes everythin else shake. Anyone have any suggestions to stop the rattlin. ..thanks

I feel your pain. I am seriously thingking of taking my back dash out and giving it a proper firey burial. I hate it. My moldings on my passenger door are the only other thing shaking as of the moment.

P.S. No back dashes were harmed in making this post!

car audio dave put a layer of dynamat extreme on the metal part and on the back dash itself and he says it helped alot. i've been wanting to do it to emily's car, but i just haven't taken the time to do it. i even bought some dynamat that's sitting in my room right now

if you dont have a port in the rear dash, or one of your 2 seats down, allowing the sub to cleanly vent into the cabin area, chances are it sounds a lot nastier outside than the rattles inside ;) . Theres simplt too much pressure in that trunk, and physics will tell you that the air need to vent SOMEWHERE, and when you have all your seats up, and nothing to vent in the rear dash, that air is gonna look for someway out, and until it does, its gonna rattle any panel or object in its wavelength path.

Simply dymamat the trunk, and the rear dash with material of your choice, and either port the rear dash, or let one of your seats down so the subs can fire into the cabin without distraction, and you should have minimal rattles ;)

you will also notice a couple decibel increases in SPL
