Just one quick question, does my whole car need to be off before i mess with the settings in my crossover? its one of those huge alpine crossovers with the gold bars that you can move. I hope i can just keep my music on and try it out instead of turning it off and on.

thanks

I dont think you HAVE too, but you're probably running the risk of spiking your crossover. I always turn the car off before I mess with any of my amp or crossover settings

I wouldn't think you'd cause any damage by adjusting levels while the car was running. It's pretty much the only way you'd be able to acurately hear how things would sound...unless you had a sperate power suply to power your vehicles audio system.

It's better to be safe than sorry I guess, so if you feel more comfortable adjusting levels with the vehicle off then keep doing it. It shouldn't hurt anything.
