I just purchsed a Pioneer DEH-P6500 Deck and was looking for opinions on 10" subs and a decent amp to add to the package without blowing to much money

Alpine Type E's... get 2 of those and like a 500 watt amp, you'll be set man.
But, pretty much no matter what you get, you're still looking at around 500 bucks after the box, wires, and install...

That's awesome, those subs do slam, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have 240 bucks to blow just on subs... He can get 2 Alpine Type E's for the cost of one of those subs... Plus, he doesn't even need that big of an amp at first to push the E's... Those and the R's can handle a whole mess of abuse...

The Alpine Type E's and Infinity Reference 10's is what I would suggest. Both are 2 of my favorite subs

I used to have 12" Type R's... God, I miss them so much... Those things were f*cking power houses... The 8100D I had running them was amazing... I miss my old setup sooo much :(

Alpine Type R's, I have 2 type E 10's with a 750 watt class D amp and they sound good, but the type r's are awesome and dirt cheap right now because alpine has a new model comin out to replace them. If you go to circuit city and buy the warranty thing, you can blow up the type r's and they will replace them with the newer model when they are out. At least thats what I would do, but it helps to know people that work there..

I replaced my 2 12" Infinity References with 2 10" Kappa Perfects and they're amazing.
