I have been planning on doing this for some time, but using propane. Can't wait to see how it works on your car though.Just don't wreck the motor! ;)

Um, the Autoloc kit? That's just an ignition kit for a tailpipe spark plug. You will need some type of gas, like propane, to make it work.
Modern fuel injected cars do not have enough gas fumes to be ignited. Even if it was running rich, the catalytic convertor removes most of the fuel vapor.
Did someone watch Fast & Furious too many times? (BTW, they had to use propane too)

you're lucky that 100 shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake...

A fuel injected car can use the Autolock or simular kit just as any carburated car would.
The catalytic converter does pose a problem, but if it's removed then it's all good.
Kits like those made by autolock usually imploy a relay that inturupts the vehicle ignition system for a few seconds so raw fuel is pumped out of the exhaust. At the same time the ignition is killed it activates a coil to a spark plug in the tail pipe igniting the enriched mixture.

now wont the flames melt your bumper over time?
Better watch that and keep an eye on it.

Not if the tail pipes are far enough out. Although I am rethinking this because i was told a couple of times today that the flame thrower kit wont work on my car.

i've seen this done the old style way
people who have older jeeps or any old vehicle that has the round single coil with a positive and negative terminal and the main terminal for the plug wire should know what i am talking about.
my dad and i made a kit like that years ago
you just need that coil, a heavy duty plug wire, and a decent spark plug
you would also have to drill and thread a hole into the exhaust closer to the tips * i think the plug was 2 feet away from the tip if i am correct. You would also need a safe way to harness some fuel such as propane to get it to ignite.
be very carefull with these kits, its nothing to fool around with as one of my friends and his camaro found out the hard way.

Hmm, I was actually thinking about that... but I dunno if I'd want a SES light and/or possible bog/stall everytime I wanted to shoot a flame.

im going to be doin that with my car soon. but what i dont get is, why would you pay sumthing like $100 for the kit when you could get instructions on how to do it online for nothing and only have to buy like 20 or 30 dollars for the things to make it with? if you wanna do it...i say go for it....the end result is awesome

If it works on your car I might do it. As for now, I have been told it wont work, so Im not going to waste the money trying.

you would have to remove the cat converter and maybe the resonator for it to work.....or hook propane up like everyone else said

Very true. I have no idea how the rest of the car will react to the lack of spark for a few seconds but I know it's possible to do.

its deffly an old school thing that fuel injection cars are trying to do,id personally only do it on a classic car since they don't have cats on and legally don't have to in a place that has emissions testing, thats why those cars are easy to do that mod/trick with. And the old school way of doing it was using a coil and wires that came to a switch inside the car and since the exhaust still had some fuel vapor because of no cat it is/was much easier to make it shoot a flame,my did this with his '57 Chevy Bellaire when he had it.
