has anyone played with there cam timing yet? im looking for a ajustable gear hopefully i can make one from a honda or eclipse work.
first i need to know how to check the cam timing, my book dosent say anything about it, only crankshaft timing.

why make one work when im pretty sure mantapart sells an adjustible one for the 2.0l

oh yea, i forgot. thats kind of high priced, most cars cost about half that. i guess thats what i will have to do, i hate to mess up my new engine with somthing from another car

Having just spent all that money on an engine rebuild I'd say save your pennies and get the mantapart sprocket. If it helps, the first time I reassembled my engine I got the timing belt off one tooth. Ran like a raped ape. Later got it lined up correctly and it lost some oomph.
Even though it ran better with the belt off a notch, I'm not planning on putting it back that way, I'd go with and adjustable gear.

well i know mine wasnt where it shoud be, i screwed up when i put in a new cam seal, and moved the cam, today i found out it was off two notches. needless to say, i have alot more power.
