Hey guys, I was doing some interior painting this weekend on my 2k4 Grand Am Gt, and was only able to get of the two small vents (the ones that unfog the side windows) and the molding around the shifter. What other parts come off and how are you able to take them off without breaking them?

the round air vents come off, theres 3 tabs holding them in from the inside. an unbent coat hanger will allow you to lift those tabs.

the radio trim, just pops off, but dont forget to unplug the traction control button and the emergency lights button, as well as the cig lighter plug.

the power window control panels come off, just use a flathead to pry from the forward part (closest to the front of the car) and unplug the wires from it.

also, the large defrost vent thats by your windshield, that pops off, but its tough to do sometimes. just be careful (use a flathead screw driver).

Ok, got the small circular vents out after having a hard time getting the clips up, and only broke 2 in the process. I took the 2 top screws out of the cover over the Front gauges (gas, MPH, RPMS, etc) but cant figure out how to undo the bottom cause that is what is staying put in place. Also, the trim around the radio, gauges, and cubby hole, this is giving me a hard time coming off. I dont want to break it so any advice would be great.

BTW, on the front side door for example, when I get the whole window/lock buttons up there are a ton of wires, and all i want to do is paint the top. I dont want to get spray paint on the buttons, so do those disconnect with the wires or what? Thanks! Joe
