My car has a governer. When I rev the engine instead of a steady rev it goes up and down up and down. I would like to get rid of the governer or at least the multiple rev sound.

to get rid of the govenor you have to get a speed chip.. or so ive found out.. and about he multiple rev's.. well i ahve no idea whats causing that because i got the same car as you and when i rev mine.. its all nice and steady.. sorry i cant be much help though.. oh yea.. with the speed chip.. it gets rid of the rev limited, speed govenor and a small boost in hp.. one kinda of speed chip is an ase chip..

That sounds like your rev limiter not the gov. The Gov only keeps your car from going over a certain speed. Rev limiter keeps you from blowing your motor. In P/N it will only rev to about 4 grand or so. in gear if you are going 6MPH or higher and you put it back into N you can rev it to red line before the limiter kicks back in.

that exactly what happens. It goes to 4000 and then it starts again. Can I take that out completely so I can do that in park or neutral? You know i would drive thru the parking lots and put it in neutral gas it to get some looks then back into drive.

And you think that revving your engine will change that? It'll just be someone else who thinks their car is the stuff...

The only thing I can tell you man is to be driving about 6MPH or so, push it up into N and it will allow you to rev up to 6 grand. Let off drop it back into drive and go. It does not hurt the tranny if you let yourRPM's drop all the way before putting it back into gear even while moving at slow speeds.

playing with your transmision while rolling is not a bright idea, you will eventualy slip and screw up your trany, or over rev and damge your engine.

if you realy want to get some heads to turn try comming to a compleate stop, turn off your ETS, putt your shifter all the way back into 1st (not drive), then slam on the gas (watch that torque steering).

or try doing the same thing but with your e-brake on, smoke those tires. but be carefull with the e-brake on, because if you dont hit the right rpms, you dont have good torque and you will burn your trany.

:burnout:

I can assure you that power breaking is not recommended on our cars with ABS. You can severely damage your brake system, later hindering them when you need them most.

Why would you want to just sit there and rev your motor while in neutral? I just don't understand. I can understand a couple of revs here and there just to screw around, but any car can do that. Did you purchase your car yourself? And I mean all by yourself? I'm getting the hint you didn't, because you would have a lot more respect for your car if you did.

Take care of it, and it will take care of you...

lol i know that question wasn't towards me...but i'll answer also lol

i didn't purchase my car myself...my parents did...but if i would've purchased it myself i WOULDN'T have as much respect for it... i mean i see where you're coming from on if you purchase a car you work hard for the money or somthing but..i would tear somthing of mine up before i would somone elses so therefore i would have more respect iif it wsant mine

i agree with lamonizer. If i bought it myself there would be no respect. I got the money from the grandpa. I have more respect for it because since it wasnt my money they would be more pissed and i would feel real bad if i wrecked it or anything.

But what about putting it in D1 and gassing it?

It will not mess up anything if you just take your time when doing it. I bought my car myself but when rice goes by and looks at me with my SC/T hood I let them hear my car also. In N they can hear my APOC CAI and my SLP exhaust combo. They then think twice about racing me. Yes you can hear me comming from up the road but sometimes you want to be loud wehter it is a sound system or an exhaust. Not to many people go to a car forum if they are not a car nut. Some know more than others, some learn from others mistakes cough cough e-brake burnout. That will flat spot your bcak tire quickly. If you think a burnout is less harmful than a quick Neutral rev I will let you but it is not true.

You have to go to there website. Then you have to ship it off to them. They insltall them. You can't drive your car for about a week. They send it back and tou plug it back in. it is a little over $300.00 for the entire thing. A company called DHP is working a few kinks out of there system. It has been put into about 10 cars so far for testing. So far so good. It is about the same price with better gains from it. That is what I have heard so far.
