Hi all,

the transmission seems to be hesitating @ 2000 rpm when at speeds of 70 mph. This has brought on the Check Engine light. I checked for fluids etc. but they all seem ok.

The code was something related to trasnmission although not very specific. I'll post it today once i find it...in the meantime, just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and how do u suggest i can fix it??

Thanks

Sounds weird, but,

CHECK THE BATTERY CONNECTIONS!!!

The tranny is not only electronically-controlled by the PCM along with the engine, it also requires several watts of power for one of the solenoids to grab.

When battery power is very low (either due to nearly-dead battery or bad connections), a slipping auto tranny is an early indication.
And, just before everything dies, you can floor the engine but the tranny will jjjuuusssstttt barely grab enough to get you off the road.

Thanks a lot Rick for the msg! I tried the battery connections and they seemed ok. I finally went and had the transmission fluid changed, think it was a little dirty!!

I also noticed there's a clicking sound when its in the first 2 gears.
Just in case, does someone have a good estimate for how much will it be to rebuild the tranny?? :(

thanks
