My son and I got the starter changed yesterday.
For my year:
1. Pull tube from air filter canister to Throttle body.
2. Drain a little water from the raditor.
3. Pull oil filter before pulling out the starter.
4. Remove 3 fan shroud bolts.
5. Remove 1 bolt that holds the fan to the front of the car. It's on the bracing....you'll see it fast.
6. There is a small rubber tube that runs from the bottom of the throttle body to a tub right on the front of the motor area, by where you took the three scroud bolts out at. Free it from either end. A little anti-freeze will come out. Thats why I said to drain some earlier.
7. The Raditor fan lives in the middle of a 3 legged stand or holding device. Pull the fan assembley up with a little left/right tugging. With all that free.

Remove the two bolts that hold the starter to the motor(bell housing) There is still two smaller wires that need removed, so after you get it worked out of the bell housing rest the start motor on the front Motor Mount. It sits there nicley while you remove the other wires. Well I held the starter in place while my son removed the wires.

From there just work it on out past the other crap...wire...tubing.

I had never attempted the project before on this car, and I figure I put 5 hours into the project...It was a figure it out as you go thing as I counldn't find any pictures or help related directly to quad 4's.

I feel having done it, I could go back out and redo it about 1 hour or less.

I had one local guy in town say 137.00 for both the new starter and the labor to replace it. 65 bucks for the starter and 60 bucks labor. That was Thursday and he could not get me in till Tuesday.

That was 4 more days down.....so I fixed it.

Hope this will help someone else in the fucture.
