recalls on 02 grand am's

ok I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about any recalls on the 02 grand am's cuz my friend told me sun nite that his uncle has a 02gt and at 40k on it he had to get a new front axle for it.and had other problems with it.and he said it was on consumer reports.but I just check there and there was nothing about any 02 grand am's I was wondering if anyone knows about this.I know tomorrow I have to go and complain about my window's scrathing on my 2 front windows and now it's starting on my rear's.and I just check alldata.com and there wasn't anything new about any recalls.and my warrenty expires @ 39k.I hope this doesn't happen to me after my warrenty is up.please let me know if anyone knows anything.

You should go to your local pontiac dealer and ask them about any recent recalls or TSB's

Nope, there are no recalls for 2002 GAs.

Even if you're out of warranty recalls are always free anyway.

hi i have a 2002 grand am se 2.2L 4cyc ecotech, and my dealer ship did a recall, it says on my paper updated calibration, reprogram powertrain control module. what does this mean, and since this i noticed a drop in my gas mileage i was getting 300 to a tank and now i am getting around 225-290. the recall was done in july and i noticed decreased gas milage in a couple of tanks of gas. any suggestions and can someone find out if this was a recall? and my driving habits stayed the same, so it couldn't be that.

Chris, I thought that was only a service bulliten and not a recall. But either way, on 02 and 03 GA's with the Ecotec the PCM reflashing is supposed to be done. I don't know exactly what was fixed, but my gas mileage actually went up with it.

on my paper it says, customer states recall, but the thing was that they did the the service and never told me and i didn't get my papers for 2 weeks after the service thats when i found out about it.
