I was wondering if anyone knew how these (http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm?singlepart=1&AddPartNumber=12496353&partnumber=12496353) stay on. i like the low profile look and is exactly what i want but it says no welding. what will keep it on.

I would imagine that there is a bolt or screw that you would tighten up against the existing exhaust pipe that would hold it on. I don't like that idea too much though since I could see them falling off after driving around for a while.

I think they use 2 screws. I had something like that on my old GA and the screws losen and I lost it.

I had the same thing on a old Blazer. I drilled a small hole in the pipe so the screw would go through. Use Red locktite

well do i have another option. i have seen them on aleros and i really like the look. i dont want to spend the money to get a new exhaust. i am tryin to get a gt muffler for my SE for look but the people havent gotten back to me. Is their another way to get the look of those with something more durable. also could i just bring them to a muffler shop and have them weld them on even though it says is doesnt need to be.

The GT are more chrome and they are dual/dual. The SEs just have crappy Dual/single tips. The ones you have there you will probably have to screw them in. If you want them to be professional a muffler shop can weld them on there good.

The GT tips are actually just polished stainless steel.

wow those are overpriced!!
you don't want screws. any muffler shop that charges you more than $5 to tack on a set of tips is ripping you off.
