This dude dragonwings on here always has some funny ass posts. If you get a chance check out some of the shit he has to say. Like his top ten list, You'll both agree with him and laugh at the same time.

Dragonwings you should be our gaoc president!
You have my vote!!

Thank you very much 97mintga for your endorsement of my placement as GAOC President.

As already mentioned, those shoes/high heels/flip flops have already been filled and by the looks of things around here, they are being worn very well. There is a lot of behind the scene trials and tribulations with running a website (not to mention the headaches and coronaries) and I would like to commend and thank Shawn and Kelly for their efforts.

Furthermore, since you’re a fan of the Lists…. *drum roll*

The top Five reasons why Dragonwings can’t be President of GAOC:

5) His Grand Am is not equipped with a laptop for internet access.

4) He can only moderate so many posts inbetween Zaino coats.

3) Shawnzilla Fists could become volatile when mixed in the same Oval Office as Dragon Wings. ;)

2) People keep performing the Heimlich on him when he says, “I’m the President of Gaoc….”

And the number one reason… instead of working on the GAOC site… he would probably just sit and stare at Pontiac Headlights all day…. And all night.

Remember… It’s not what your Grand Am can do for you, but what you can do for your Grand Am!

Air Force One??? I don’t need no stinkin’ Air Force One!

I viewed his site. And I am impressed. I am curious Dragonwings about your little purple dragon. I met a motivational speaker about 12 years ago, at a time of personal crisis in my life, and he had a big impact on me. He mascot was a stuffed purple dragon. At the moment I forget the name of the dragon, but this dragon went everywhere with him, and actually got his own seat on airplanes when they travelled.

I still keep a sheet of paper with his take on risk that every once in a while I look at.

Dragonwings, your site reminded me of this, and I have the sheet in front of me right now. Thanks for the reminder.

And the excerpt from your book was goo. I think I'm going to try to buy it. I wonder if Chapters has it?

Kudos to you Dragonwings, writing is a great art that I think is sometimes undervalued. :thumbup2:

Thank you very much for your comments, and thank you for dropping my links Shawn. I greatly appreciate it.

I wouldn't call myself a professional writer until I get most of my income from writing. Unfortunately, right now, I still have a day job to pay the bills. Currently, working on becoming a professional writer via a syndicated newspaper column so wish me luck!

BBT... That's really wierd that someone else used a purple dragon. You're very welcome for the reminder. Thank you for taking the time to check out my site and read the excerpts. Currently, my book is only available via Amazon and my website.

Jrobzilla and yonkman... Thank you again for your support! It's been a long journey to publish my book with lots of ups and downs so it's really great to get the positive feedback.

Big Joe... You have no idea how many Bush jokes I bypassed in my little list... didn't want the thread to turn into a political flame war.

For anyone interested in purchasing my book, I'm going to offer free shipping to GAOC members via a link this weekend. I'll post it in this thread.

Thank you again, you guys have really motivated me to finish up my sample columns and submit them for review.

Dragonwings - One Really Deep Breath for dragonkind, one big penis joke for mankind.

BBT… you inquired about the origin of Little Dragon Wings and the dragon. As you can tell from my site, I like to try and inspire/motivate people. We all have crap to go through, and I realized when I went through my crap, that we all feel alone and lost at some point, and some of us even feel bad enough to contemplate suicide. Not a very good place to be.

So anyway, I’ve always been a huge fan of Bruce Lee’s philosophies on life and fighting and learned that his theories can be applied to life. Bruce Lee had a nickname of Little Dragon. I’ve used various screen names with Little Dragon in it.. and one time used Dragonwings just to be different. In coming up with my site name, I wanted something that was different and reflected my viewpoints on life. (don’t be judgemental, stereotypes while at times useful, often serve as a crutch for thinking, etc.)

Along that lines, dragons are often thought of as fire breathing creatures of destruction. But what if it was just a “little” dragon… furthermore, “wings” give flight to someone’s fall… Hence, Little Dragon Wings was born. Spreading hope and smiles across the nation! And of course, flying with passion.

As for the dragon I used, my view towards life is to not take it too seriously. You’ve got to be able to play and not take yourself too seriously. It’s okay if people make fun of you for being a tad obsessed with your car for instance. I wanted a dragon that reflected the mischievous side of all us that just wants to have fun. Sure there may be white wizards waiting to slay you, and little hobbits scheming against your lord.. but there’s always a virgin princess to eat somewhere right? (See there goes those crazy stereotypes again!)

As for the purple color scheme… that’s my favorite color.

And that’s pretty much the story.

Hopefully the picture below has loaded by the time you get to this point, but it’s an animated gif of the vinyl decals on my car. It’s 900K, but I think it’s an adequate representation of my madness….errr.. dedication.

Thank you to Ryan at Grafxwerks for his spectacular service and working with me to have these custom decals made. Unfortunately, I ran out of daylight as I was taking the photos so some are dark. On camera flash was used to get the reflective vinyl to show it’s true colors. Thanks again to everyone for your support!
