Well since in the next few weeks I am going to have a lot more on my plate then Albany, I thought I would start an official discussion on a caravan comming down from Canada though Maine.

What time is everyone planning on starting their travels and meeting up? I am planning on joining in Augusta (Exit 109) or Auburn (Exit 80) depending on timing. Maine has recently renumbered all their exits to match mileage from the southern border.

Well, I can't say for certain... Part of it hinges on wether or not I'll be driving up to Woodstock NB to pick up a passenger. If so, we'll cross the border there and travel down I-95. If not, we'll cross at Calais and travel down the Airline road to Bangor, then hop on I-95 there. Time should be about the same though.

I would imagine we'd be leaving very early on Thursday morning. IIRC, it's about 5 hours from my house to the border, then you can fill us in on how long from the border to your place. Hopefully there won't be as long a wait at the border theis year. :omg:

When Kel and I drive down in a couple weeks it'll give is a better idea where we'll be meeting you for Albany. How far are you from those exits? Is there any parking lots we can meet up in, or anything like that?

Im about 15-30 mins from the two exits I listed. Exit 109A (Augusta) is the exit you will take when you come down in a few weeks. There are a few plazas on I-95 that might be a good place to meet up at, so you guys won't have to worry about leaving the highway or anything.

Hmmm, that sounds like a good plan. :) We could always give you a quick call on the cell as we're getting close.

There is not usually a long line at the houlton crossing.

I've been thinking, the best place for us to meet up in Maine is the Service Plaza between Exit 63 & 53 (Exits by mileage now). You guys could either guesstimate an arrival time, or give me a call when you get on 95 in Bangor at Exit 184.

We'll probably just give you a call as we get close, Jason. :) I thin that would be easist.

I am now planning on meeting up with you guys at the Mile 25 Plaza on the Maine Turnpike US 95/495. If you guys could give me a quick call when you hit Bangor or Augusta that would be great just so I would have some notice. Then I will plan on being at the plaza in plenty of time for your arrival.

After this post I will not have interenet access since we have been given a Condo in Wells, ME for the week and will probably be out sailing during the days and [insert imagination here] during the nights.:D

You guys have my cell phone number if there are any changes, if not I plan on seeing you guys Thursday afternoon/evening.

Just to let you guys know that I managed to hi-jack a wireless signal from one of the other Condos here, so I will be able to check email/posts if you need me.
