It seems as though you have some sort of fault in your engine. Typically, the 3100 and 3400 are somewhat torquey engines. Have you checked your intake? or your fuel filter? There are a number of things that could be causing the lousy performance at low rpms. As for mods. Well a CAI will help your high end generally. An exhaust will help your entire band, small tube headers will get your more torque while large tube will give you more high end hp.

what headers?

sounds like a bad catalytic converter to me. It may be clogged or something. If that's the case I recommend doing the entire exhaust with 2.25" piping, catco or magnaflow cat and a flowmaster muffler.

Yes I did replace the fuel filter about 3 weeks ago, Even took it to the shop. Mechanic said it was on the lean side, but he found a clamp on the MAP sensor off. He replaced it and said it was fine all codes were good. But the car is still lazy, Just no pickup. How do I check the Cat. and the Intake?

jbodyperformance.com sells headers for the 3100. they cost approx. as much as an engine swap though! there's a fellow on the beretta boards almost ready to put some cheaper ones on the market; he's not going to sell any until they've been dyno tested.

an underdrive pulley helps improve your acceleration. polyurethane motor mounts help a tiny bit in transferring power more efficiently.

the 4t60e transmission has never been that good off the line.. that might be what you're experiencing right there, unless you've noticed the acceleration getting worse.

a bad catalytic converter ususally makes the exhaust stink like rotten eggs.
