swaping auto tranny to manual

hey im new to the site and i just picked up a 96 grand am 2.4 twin cam, i saw the thread about how to convert a quad 4 over from auto to manual but i am just wondering if it is the same for a twin cam if so let me know or if not then tell me what i need to do

and i was also wondering if a 95 2.3 trannie would bolt up to my 96 2.4

Converting auto to manual? It's not worth it. Trade it in for a manual car.

lol dude well turbos kick ass, but dude i was at the junk yard today and was lookin over everything in the engine and it looks just like a quad four tranny 5spd would bolt up to a 2.4 96 so anyone out there that can help me out with this let me know

Dude, easier to yank the turbo and drop it in another car than it is to do a tranny swap from autmatic to manual.

Obvious by your posts that you don't really know all the work you will be in for, and if you don't know, don't attempt it.

BTW, a little tid bit about automatics and turbos, they work great together. One reason, less loss of boost between shifts.

there will end up being more work that just putting the tranny it. might as well get a donor car so you can get anything you need. wouldnt be surprised if you have to do some custom wiring. all i have to say is Good Luck. your gonna need it.

Thats when you go out and get a 5spd car.. Thas what I did..
