Hey guys...My girlfriend has a '96 Cavalier LS Sedan, TwinCam with around 94K. For the past 3,000 miles or so, it's had this studder at idle, and idly ONLY. I've posted about it before, but nothing seems to work...

Here's the strange thing...it'd been nearly perfect the past month, then it started acting up again. So I poored some good ole' O'Reilly fuel system cleaner in, and now its fine. It does this all the time. Are the injectors dirty, and do they need to be cleaned professionally? It's one of those annoying problems!

Have you tried doing a full tune-up on it? Mine was acting up in the high 80k miles. Replacing the stuff that needs to be replaced at 100k miles made it run good again.

My guess Dallas is that if the fuel injector cleaner fixes the problem then I would get a dealer (or similar shop) to 'professionally' clean it :) ... even if it doesn't fix it entirely, it is a good maintenance item :)

I've always heard that's it's not a good idea to get your injectors cleaned. Messes them up in the long run. Best bet is to just get new ones.

Probably end up doing that... I check around on the prices on getting them cleaned and for new ones. Guess we can just keep adding fuel system cleaner :D j/k

The car goes in for a recall notice on Friday, I'll ask the dealer about it...

Thanks!
