Hello, I am looking at buying a 1995 GA Se with 80,000 miles on it. I would like to know from the people who know these cars best, how reliable the quad 4 motor is. I have heard some bad things, and want to know if I should heed this advice and not buy the car. I know the owner of the car personally and know that it hasnt had any major problems in the past. The alternator was replaced recently, and it just had a tune up. I do alot of highway driving, and I need to know if I can rely on this car to get me from A to B. Thanks for your help. Cory

134,000 hard driven miles on my 95 Quad 4... 0 problems. Engine has been great, runs as smooth as day when purcahsed. (I purchased used with 43,000 miles - shows no signs of any major engine work previous to my ownership.
IMO the 95 Quad 4 is reliable.

The quad 4 DOHC seems to be a very reliable engine. It's a good 4-cyl to build off of. You might have to replace the timing chain soon judging from the mileage the car is at.

Very reliable engine. The rest of the car is average at best.

My 92 Quad 4 DOHC gave me no major problems. It was very reliable until it was totaled. The only problem I had was one of the known problems on the Quad which was the head gasket. The gasket went out at about 86,000 miles. That would probably be the only thing you need to worry about.
