welcome to my world. there haven't been any new berettas for 8yrs now. you get used to it.
take heart, the GA may return. after all, it isn't named after a handgun or anything, so pontiac can still use the name without getting sued.

Hey now, not everyone spends all their free time on Internet forums to get the inside scoop. Go easy on the guy.

No reason to chastize someone just because they are not as "informed" as you are.

HERE IS ALL THE INFO YA NEED
What kind of name is G6 for a Pontiac? Crappy name if you ask me.
Pontiac should give it a real name. Maybe not one of their old names from the past, perhaps, but a spiffy new name.
Maybe something relating to the Indian type name roots of Pontiac, like 'Warrior' or something.

Actually G6 stands for 6th Gen Grand Am. The grand am name isnt even a true base name anyways. The name Grand Am got its grand from its big brother the Grand Prix and it got the Am from The T/A or Trans Am. But anyways, if you ask me, I dont like the look fo the G6 at all. Hell im more of a fan of the newer Gp's than of the G6. Well I guess the next car for me is a GTO :D heheh yea, when I somehow magically get like 50 000$

Yeah, because there was also a Beretta gun. But I believe the reason they ended the beretta is because of the side impact on a crash had to be redone and would cost to much so they pulled them in 96.

Tell me about it. I have an 89 Beretta GTU that I bought brand new. She needs some restoration. That is why I bought the GA. Needed to get the GTU off the road. And besides, GA's are just plain sweet cars :D

Well to hell with the G6, my next car is a Solstice baby. I've always wanted a convertible. :)

I heard awhile ago too. Sucks all the same though.
At the same time, that gives us all reason to take the best care of our cars to keep the legacy alive!!
I have an 89 Beretta GTU Man, I used to love the look of those GTU Berettas, not to mention their exhaust notes. They seemed pretty rare, even like 8yrs. ago.

It isn't? Then what is the base name of the Grand Am?
While it wasn't the base name of the first 2 generations, subsequent to those, the Grand Am has been a stand-alone model range in its own right. The first two generations were just versions of the LeMans. And usually highly desireable versions at that.

Yeah, I've seen only two in the area where I live. One white and one red. Mine is white. Unfortunately the ground fx fell victim to snow banks while someone else was driving the car. ARGH!
I'm not sure I like the G6 looks. I saw a 2004 GA GT today that just rocked! Love the twin hood scoops :D

What I meant was grand am was made up for a cross between the t/a and grand prix, hence the name of the grand am. But you know what? the G6 is looking better to me everytime I see it. But its still not the beautiful ga and therefore, its only GTO time for me

Any pic of that Beretta GTU?
I know the GTZ, but not the GTU, so I wanna see what they look like.

beretta GTU:
http://www.beretta.net/model_info/images/88berettagtu88.jpg
only made in '88 and '89 and only in red, black and white - just about the rarest production model of beretta there is, other than blue GTZ's. basically a 2.8l beretta with stiffer suspension, 16" wheels and the gfx. mirrors are square.
i don't think they actually got sued, but there was trouble. i figure GM dropped it because of import competition + name trouble + side impact bars.. they could only afford to keep either the GA or the beretta as a sports coupe, and it was easier to keep the GA.
i like the G6. i don't like the name, but the car looks nice.

Thanks for the pic voyager.
That's a good looking Beretta, but I like the GTZ better.
