I give up - where is the belt tensioner for a '95 3.1 SE and how does it work? There's a large bracket that I think might be the "device".
I'm telling you - I'm hating this car more everyday, compared to my Grand Prix. It takes me about 5 seconds to slip the belt off of my GTP.
I hope I'm missing something obvious. Can anyone help?

The tensioner is cast aluminum, about 4 inches diameter and 1 inch thick, located mid-height rear.
The idler pully is same size, black, located just above the crankshaft pully.
It has the arm from the tensioner holdin its center bearing. This cast aluminum arm has a tab on it, about 1/2"x1/2"x 3/4" long.
For belt tension release, get a 16 inch crescent wrench (or open-end wrench, or cobble something together) and grab the tab.
Run the wrench handle in front of the waterpump pully, and lift up to release tension.
It's as simple as the 5 second GP procedure, once you figure it out.

Thanks rixGAphx.
I need some good news for this car about now.
I just finished replacing the front passenger power window motor and I will be putting the door back together tomorrow.
I want to take the belt off, so I can remove the alternator and try to repair a water leak somewhere on the firewall under the ventilation fan. Lot's of fun.
