I've had a misfire in mine for over 2 years. I've tried just about everything...new wires, plugs, coil packs, etc. I had it to the dealer once and all they did was flush the fuel system whic made little difference. I've just learned to live with it.

I had misfires in mine when I first got it. When I pulled the plugs I found out that they were all gapped differently from the factory. :roll2:

Boy I remember that hot job..rofl.

I had a slight misfire in my brand new 2004 cavy. Well I just bought an ignition coil upgrade, pulled the old coils out of the spark plug boots, put the new ones on and boom....No more misfire...Now tell me that isn't interesting.

Yep.....you got all of the scuffed knockles from changing the back plugs!! Should have let the engine cool down before we changed 'em..

Hey everyone,
I think that my engine is misfiring, it doesn't run as smooth as the Alero I had a year ago with the same 3400 V6... What exactly does a misfiring sound like?

Old guy - did you put in new plugs, or just resize the gap on the old ones?

Thanks guys

My exhaust had a skip in it it was not smooth. I also change my plugs 4.19 each (ac delco rapidfire 14) and got new boots and a air filter. Problem slove. The OEM plugs for the 2001 2.4 is ac delco 41-963. They are 5.99 each.

My plugs where also gap wrong from the factory
