Ok My buddy took his ga into the dealership and they diagnosed his problem as the drivers side hub being worn and it was replaced ....
just recently the hub had to be replaced again but after replacement we are hearing a noise. it's a constant grinding sounding but when we checked the hubs and (that doesnt seem to be the problem now)......we are not hearing the problem from one side of the car or other now it sound like it is coming from the final drive on the transmission..... any of you others have this problem .....and if so what fixed it if you did fix it.....

Gm is not necessarilly saying that there is a problem with the hubs on this car but when my bud asked the mechanics ...they hinted at that this problem is the reason they keep extra hubs for this car in stock.....

GT or SE ? The RSA tires that come on the GT can make kind of a grinding / scrunching noise at low speeds .

its an se and is running douglas performance gth tires
their size is 215/60/15 94h
but the noise does seem to start at low speed but as you keep gaining speed it gets louder could be the tires you said a constant scrunch noise at lower speeds like 30mph or lower ????

he said he didnt get over 30mph because he didnt want to destroy something if was something else....before we fixed the hub and abs/traction control wire connector since it came off and was rubbing on the tire ....

i will ask my friend/ the owner if it is the regular road noise tommorrow and post .... ie the sound just didnt sound like it was the tires to me ...
because the faster you went the louder it got ...

I don't know about the tires you mentioned . But the Goodyear RSA's make noise like that . The hubs are also known to give trouble on these as well , so i wouldn't be surprised . :D
