Ok first off i live in canada so we dont have pep boys or autozone.. .. but im suspecting the car is running rich... sell the gas when the car had been running.. let sit for 10 min... then when i fire it up it pretty strong gas smell inside the car and outside with the hood open. So im suspecting a sensor is bad but i have no engine light on .. and the engine light works fine? I just bought this car.. and im about to do a ton of maintence on it.. but i would like to get this really rough idle delt with first.
I had a old set of coils and a spare module switched them.. and same thing... but i cant say for sure they are all 100% and where would i go to test those?
So yesturday i pulled the first plug and it was gapped to .080 so i resized it to a .060 or so.. and it was an ac delco standard plug...
moved to the next plug ... bosch platinum.. and both plugs are heavily fouled up.. like i mean i have no idea how its sparking..
I know the plugs are going and may just put new wire in the car tomarrow..
But what would cause the heavy fouling .. like i mean there is soo much on the plug there is no gap... only about 15% of the area left for a spark to travel rest is dirt and crap.
Any ideas or where i should start first?
Thx for any help...
