Since I am trying to increase performance on my so far bone stock grand am I thought well everyone always starts with exhaust so I might as well too.
But when I was doing tire rotation today I noticed that the stock exhaust is held by like a hook sort of thing that keeps it from flying up and down when car is driving like I've seen on many cars where exhaust system just gets loose.
I've heard that Borla, RSM, SLP, etc.... make exhaust systems. So my question which one will give most performance, good sound, will have that hook thing so that it does not fly after good mileage put onto the car. My previous car had a magnaflow exhaust and that thing was not connected that way so it kept on constantly hitting the floor or the frame of the car when car would go over something....

what "hook thing"?? You mean the hanger? All exhaust systems use hangers.
To answer your question...it's all about taste.
If you search "Exhaust" you'll find well over 200 threads.....that should be more than enough to get you thoroughly confused. In the end it's all about getting what you want. :)

I dunno about RSM exhausts. Borla is too $$. I love my SLP exhaust. It uses stock hangers and the sound is nice and raspy. With my WAI, this kid that drives a modded Honda thought I had a SC.

I've never understood the concept of "cat back systems." Just go to a muffler shop, tell them what you want done (down to the tips), and they'll do it for you...usually cheaper than one of those prebuilt kits.

the exhaust shop should be able to weld up a hook in approx. 84 seconds or less. there's nothing special about one - just make sure you have the shop hook it up proper. no worries.

Because not many local shops can "mandrel" bend the pipes.

this is a tired discussion. But as we always say.
-Borla- expensive, not raspy, deep rumble, not much louder than stock, gains noticed throughout powerband
-SLP- less expensive, raspy (because of no res), quite loud, some low end power loss ( 10 hp and ft-lbs) much more high end power
So pretty much, they are similiar. Borla uses 2.25", which is great if your not modding your car highly. SLP doenst have a res which makes it sound raspy, has higher high end gains than borla
