Does anyone, or does anyone know of someone that has a nitrous kit on a 2000 2.4L GA?

ZEX's NOS Nitrous works..... pretty much every company. they are not engine specific for the most part

just please tell us you got some other mods and not just a stock engine? if so i hope you dont plane on a big hit of NOS.

with all its greatness in adding instent power, NOS as got to be like the easiest way to fudge up a nice new motor.

I don't plan on using a big shot. Just about 35 to 45hp. I am getting a new exhaust first. Other than that what other mods would you have in mind?

please also refer to it as nitrous. Its kinda buggs me hearing people say Naawwzz all the time. As for a shot. Well, if you want, you can go up to a 75 shot without problems. Beyond that and you will need engine modifications. Specifically, parts that are likely to break in your engine. Genenerally though, a 35 or 50 shot is your best bet. Id also recommend getting a professional install. That way, if your engine blows, you can blame it on them. As for mods, more or less your looking at serious internal engine upgrades to handle larger shots. Also look into what trype of setup you want, either dry or wet kits.

You can probably run up to 75 shot safely as long as it is not used CONSTANTLY. Also, some precautions are needed.
Run 91+ octane fuel
remove all performance chips that advance timing UNLESS it has a nitrous curve programmed
DO NOT use platinum plugs!
Run around 1 heat range colder on your plugs as long as they will not foul while driving normally
Keeping that in mind, you can run 75shot safely on a 2.4. I have had a 75shot on my ZX2 for 4 years now and no problems with intelligent use of the nitrous.

You do not have to run any other mods to benefit from nitrous oxide. However, they will definitely help in the power gains. Your catback will definitely help off the spray, but the net gains will be proportionately higher when running the juice.

As far as other mods, none really come to mind. Well, maybe a custom programmed chip for nitrous usage. One that can be easily turned on and off as you do not want timing retard for normal driving. Of course, a MSD unit is an even better choice as the better ones will allow you to dial in your own amounts of timing retard.

yes. internal mods like stronger crank, piston heads, connecting rods are not needed for the smaller shots, but i will highly recommend it. NOS puts alot more strain on everything. therefore stronger internals are not a bad idea if you can afford it.

Oh yeah, if you have the time and money, do it! But really, nitrous oxide is no more dangerous than super/turbo charging. 75hp gain from nitrous is the same as 75hp gain from forced induction. And you see a LOT of turbo kits with a 50-70hp gain being used on stock internals with no problems. I still would like to slap in some forged pistons and rods into my ZX2's engine and run 100-125 shot. But...my photography hobby will come first now.
