I was at a BBQ yesterday with a friend when it started to rain so we left. When I was dropping her off, she yells over to me that one of my fog lights is out. I was like no that can't be, I just put them in like 2 months ago. I get out to look and the drivers side fog light is cracked straight up the middle and also across the bottom. Then I look at the passenger side also and there was a small hairline crack also (but it was still working). There was no chips or anything out of the lense so it wasn't from any rocks. The temperature change from the hot lense and the cold rain must have cracked the glass.:cuss: I was so mad! I mean 2 months and they're busted already! I love spending my money to have it wasted 2 months later! Don't get me wrong, I love them and everything, but what the hell! They should be able to stand up to a little more wear and tear than that.

Even though I'm complaining so much about them, I'll still end up getting another pair this weekend.:D I'm such a sucker for them what can I say! :P

If it had of happened a week ago, I would have let you know :). I would have still recommended them to you though. I like them. I drive a lot on the highway so they could have been cracked because of rocks or whatever, but I didn't see any chips though. They really aren't that much of a difference in price so whether you get blazertechs or angel eyes. It won't really matter...it's just a difference in looks that's all.

Well it really depends on the brand also.
Alot of companies make the Angle eyes style lamps now, so who knows.

And yes, those Angle eyes looked good on my trailer. :)

I know there are some cheaper brands out there, but I got the Hella Optilux 2500 set. I figured they were up there on the quaility list. I did upgrade the bulbs to a higher wattage so they will get hotter then they are supposed to. So that bmay have been the reason. Hopefully this time around they will be fine. I love the look and 200% better visibility! (for me anyways :glasses: )

Well, I put in a higher wattage super bright bulbs right off of the bat so they are definitely brighter than stock. With my lowbeams (upgraded super bright bulbs) and my new fogs with the upgraded bulbs, they are almost as bright as my highs. I can see way better in the dark and in the rain...well not right now anyways... :P

They weren't too hard to put on at all. Your brackets are a little different than mine but they are still just as easy. This topic has been covered many times on here but check out this link (http://www.grandamgt.com/angeleyeinstall.html) for specifics.

As for cost. I live right on the border so I just went across to a Pep Boys and picked them up for about $55US...about $74. I declared them and everything and there was no duty. Your relatively close to the border too so I would go over and pick up a pair rather than ordering them online.

I khow I'm right next to the border. The only bad thing is that I also have to take a ferry to get off this island. it's almost 45 each way for the ferry. I will check with locdco in town to see they carry them. any way thanks

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Those are the brakes squeeling to a hault because I found your problem.

If you put higher wattage bulbs in the housing than it requires then that could be your problem. It's known that higher watt bulbs are often the source of cracked or melted lenses and housings, along with melted and shorted wiring harnesses.

I rewired them using the one that came with the Angel Eyes. Wouldn't that be enough? I don't think I went too high of wattage...Can't recall the exact amount. What would stock be?

I got mine while I was down in Albany and I paid 60$US for them. I know DriverFX.ca has them for 95$ CDN so you can get them for the same price on special order at Crappy Tire.

Got the new ones put in. Glad I did because they look so sweet! I put 55W super brights in this time so we'll see how they are. I'm going to see what kind of warranty these things have and try and contact hella. Maybe I can get a free pair out of it. :D

After reading this thread...I am starting to like Blazertech 3200 better.

Lemme get this straight. You bought Hella Optilux 2500 Angel Eye fog lights, then proceeded to swap in higher wattage bulbs. They broke/cracked, quite possibly as a result of your changes, and you expect Hella to replace them?

Both my 3200 were cracked after only 6 months in... using their stock bulbs.

As it turns out they weren't a higher wattage. But I used a different kind of bulb. I thought I put something in higher than 55W but I didn't. The stock bulbs that came with the fogs are 55W, and I replaced them with super bright 55W xenon bulbs this time...I don't even know who the last ones were by. I don't expect them to do anything, but since I used the same wattage bulb they shouldn't have cracked. If I wanted to make a big fuss over this, I would have *****ed a lot more and wouldn't have bought the same pair again. Since I don't really care about them being covered under warranty, even if they are, I got another pair anyways. Why not try and get another pair if they would be covered...just curious?

I think that it all depends on the conditions you're driving in and also debris on the roads from other cars. I hope these ones will last a little longer because it will start to become an expensive replacement. I never want to put the stock ones back on though, they're just not the same. :P
