Cylinder #1?

Just a quick question.....which cylinder is cylinder#1? I have some conflicting information information and am trying to get it resolved. The engine in question is a 3.4L out of a 99 grand am. Thanks a million.

I just went out and double checked for you and looking from the front of the engine, #1 is the one on the back of the engine (next to the firewall) on the far left. To carry on, #3 is on the back in the middle and #5 is on the far right. Finally, in the front, #2 is on the far left, #4 is in the middle and #6 is on the right. Firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6 :)
