Hey Everyone,
I thought I'd put my Grand Am up on the messageboard as an example of what I've done in case anybody is thinking of doing something similar.
I started with a base model car that I bought from Sunrise Pontiac in Memphis. Car had a manual transmission, no spoiler, and steel wheels w/hubcaps. Cost was $10,995 brand new (I bought the ad car). I then added an alarm $220, a cruise control unit $350, a sunroof $380, a set of Grand Prix wheels with new tires (ebay) $450, a spoiler (ebay) $185, a custom exhaust w/dynomax muffler and twin Ractive Black Chrome tips $240, and a pulley from High Rev for $165. Total cost of my customized car was $12985.
My only future mods are going to be a B&M short shifter, tinted windows, and black grill pieces from customcargrills.com.
My car gets an average of 31 mpg and I don't baby it. If you guys price a similar cruise or sunroof it will probably cost less than mine. I had mine installed by a local shop that specializes in modifying cars for new car dealers. 1st class work=1st class price.

Let me know what you guys think.

My Black Chrome exhaust tips. Bad picture, but I'm not good with cameras.

Hey Troggs, I got a Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler #17739. It cost $48.88 plus handling from Summitracing.com. The muffler is for a Camaro or Firebird. I take back my earlier comments about this exhaust moving my powerband up. I finally got the chance to drive my car without my wife, daughter, and air conditioner turned on. The car was a freaking rocket. Later.

Nice thank you. So there wasn't much trouble getting it to fit onto your GA? And you just got the muffler and tips?

The exhaust guy *****ed about how to fit everything under the back of the car, but I've dealt with him before and he whines about everything. It wasn't a problem.
