Went to Quality auto today to see about some 6.5s for my car. He suggested that i hook them up to a 4 channel amp so that i can have room for some 6x9s late on if i choose to buy some. Anyways he is tryin to sell me a 4 channel for around 250 which is kinda high im thinkin. Was wondering what type of amp would be good and kick out some power within a reasonable price range. Would like to try and get one off of ebay but i really am not sure what i need to look for. Suggestions are awesome!

A good amp at a good price you cant go wrong with CrossFire
The 354 35wx4 rms and the 404 50wx4 rms are awsome 4 chan amps. If you are really wanting to crank out some power go with the 804 100wx4 rms.
The VR354 280w Max $169.00
You can get the VR404 400w Max for $229.00
$250.00 isn't all that high for a good quality amp. But that also depends on how many rms watts it was also.
I am running the 354 with clif design triax and coax with directional tweaters and it sounds like 500 watts. Freaking crisp and clear. Pushing the 12" Treo sub with the crossfire 300w 2 chan bridged and it will make your heart skip a beat or two.

thats a pretty good site, but beware that they aren't an authorized dealer of the rockford, alpine, and jl stuff, so if it goes bad for whatever reason your screwed on getting it fixed

I was just trying to find a site with some pricing. I buy all my stuff at Boomers Audio in Tulsa.

i've been in OKC for a while and audio plus, cooper elec. and midwest audio aren't that great
where at in tulsa is boomers and which brands do they sell and do they make good boxes?, i'm intersted in a dual 12 + amp rack box, 3/4''mdf with vinyl
normally when i want audio i drive 8 hours back to mississippi to my local dealer there, i'd like to shorten that drive, but the places here suck

They have a hudge selection of already made boxes.
You can get custom made to any specifacation you like. Some of there custom fiberglass designs will blow you away. They do custom interior work at the shop as well.
Amps. Lunar, Crossfire, Zapco
Subs. Crossfire, Treo.
Then there is some real high end componant systems I can not remember the name of. These are just the brands I mainly remember.
You wont find any Rockford at Boomers.

not trying to take away from the audio industry or anything, but why not build it yourself? you get tons more satisfaction, plus if you're any where near as picky as i am you won't be satisfied with the finished product. they will miss out on SOMETHING you wanted.......never fails :) but if you do it yourself you can cover all those little tiny details

i have the skill to do it, i just don't have the tools, material, or patience to do it, plus if i screw up then i pay to fix it, if they screw up then its on them, by screw up i mean cut wood to short and it not fit together right and stuff like that, if i give the wrong specs then its my fault

Yeah you wont have to worry about specs. They will set you up with the correct box for the subs. Just give them a call or come down and check it out.

well i see your point. i didn't think it all the way through. i've got all the tools i need to build one, so i didn't think of that. i was just thinking of how hard i am to satisfy. when the place built emily's ported box i wasn't satisfied with the finished product. sounded great, but looks weren't what i had in mind
