Replacing 6x9s on a 00 GT.

I am trying to pull out the stock 6x9's in my GT (I love saying that.:D ) and put my JVC's in it but can't figure out how to get to it. Is there any special way to pull that peice out and replace those. Can someone let me know.

from what I can see with mine..I think they are drop in speakers... so I believe you have to take the grill off and prolly unscrew them from the top..But Im not sure I havent checked mine out yet...

What im trying to figure out is how to take the grill off. Is there a latch or something cause I can't get it to just pop off.

you have to take off the whole thing. Its pretty simple. you put down your rear seats and there should be like 4 screws.

then pull the whole assembly out.. carpet and all.

or you can just lift up the assembly (carpet and grill) and have someone pop up the speaker and pull it out.
