Ok I searched the forum and just gave me more questions.

I would like to lower my car, not sure of the best approach though?

I would like it to look level, not the stock raked look.

I was originally thinking springs, but found that people were not agreeing on which ones leveled and which ones sucked, etc.

Then I was thinking air bags, but then I kept seeing JordanGT replying to everyone saying that he would stick with his hydaulics, so I started thinking about them. But how much, how hard, etc?

So could some people straighten me out.

you want Eibach lowering springs. Not my choice, but you said you want the level look. Personally I don't like that look nor do I think Eibach would be as popular as they are if it wasn't for their name.

I agree with Amraam4, Eibach lowering springs will level it. They are something like 1.5 in the rear and 1.3 in the front.

Its actually the springs I am going to put on my car.

Thanks

I guess I'll go Eibach.

But what about bags or hydraulics, Im thinking bags would be cheaper, plus I could raise it up when I need a little more clearance, speed bumps, parking lot entrances, winter, etc.

But how much would a full bag setup cost, any estimates?

It depends on what you would like to do with the car. If you are looking to go fast i definately would even think about airbags or hydraulics.

Uhm, if you are having these types of questions and thoughts about simply lowering the car, I would suggest that you do a bit more research. You're getting too deep into this for such a simple mod.

And bags are not cheaper than springs.

No, I meant Air Bags are probably cheaper than hydraulics.

Springs are by far the cheapest, I know that.
But I would like to raise and lower whenever I wanted.
but I also want performance, so Im going with springs.

OK

good choice on springs. bags/hydraulics are not an economical or common sense mod to do on a daily driven vehicle. Springs will suit you fine and will provide plenty of clearance except for extreme conditions. As with any suspension or wheel mod though, pay attention when driving and you'll avoid many problems that may pop up

Those Eibach springs... does anyone know how they ride? Are they a lot bumpier than stock? And how does the ride compare to the other companies products?

Im not sure how they ride. Im about to find out if it will quit freaking raining every dang weekend. LOL
I was told it wont change all that much, but will handle a heck of a lot better. Mine rides rough as it is so it cant get much worse.

Ok, well I would appreciate it if you could make a post on the comparable stiffness of before/after (if it ever stops raining ;) ).
Thanks

almost all lowering springs make the ride worse. at least a little bumpier, if not a lot bumpier. but keep in mind im saying this and i drive in boston and live in a town constantly under construction... so it may be better depending on where you live and where you drive.

even the highway i drive on has too many bumps

Does anyone make a coilover that would work??? that way you can raise and lower your car when you wanted too, and they are cheaper than bags.

I have the Eibach Pro-Kit and I haven't changed driving habits to any degree since I put them on. They don't make your ride unbearably stiff, just more firm and your car doesn't float as much on the highway.
Since, I've added KYB GR2's and a rear sway bar and now the car handles like its on rails but still comfortable. If you do hit a bump of course you feel it a little more, its inevitable.
If you want a good comfort/performance mix then I think Eibach is the way to go.:D

I have ridden in a 03 GA GT with Intrax and I thought it was softer than stock. Maybe because it didn't have KYB's, but I don't think that matters.

I think its funny how eibach says its a "lowering kit". There just springs. Wheres the "kit". But i think eibachs drop very nice and ARE noticable. Dont let anyone tell ya different.
Ride quality will suffer no matter what. Some springs are better than others for ride quality. If ya want stock ride quality then stay stock.
