I just used a L bracket on both sides and screwed it down on the trunk bottom.

do that, or you can get you some long ass screws and just screw it down from inside the box

Both methods will work (personally I rather the "L" brackets) but either way, make sure you check under the car before you drill into your trunk floor. :)

ok... instead of postin a new thread I decided to post in here. I am going to look at my system tomorrow if I get time. And here's two thing I want to do. I want to either

1. Place mdf down on the trunk floor in the back. Only about 22 deep and 32 Wide. Then I was going to cut out sections for my sub amp (left) my MOMO (center) and my speaker's amp (right). Then later on... maybe carpet it.

2. The way I want to do it. Alot harder, but I think will look so much better... Take the two amps and mount one on each side of the trunk. First I'll put mdf on the sides so that they will mount onto something, then i'll mount the amps onto the wood. Well here's the problem. I don't know how to put the wood on the sides of the trunk... On those lil humps. My friend said that I can use self tapping screws (never heard of) but he encouraged me before I go messing with the body like that, to see if it would ruin any of the inspection stuff like emissions or something. I guess that was kinda reasonable because the gas tank is on the other side.

Took someones picture of those humps where I want to mount the wood (I only have 1 sub)

Thx Guys!

Or you could simply use velcro. Thats what im going to use for my speaker box. That damn thing doesnt stay.

hmm... never thought of that... Will that hold like 10 pounds verticle on the sides. If so, I just up the amps on the carpet with velcro or do i still put the mdf on? Cuz I know I have velcro somewhere in this house. Just dont wanna velcro up my amp if it will fall. I was guessin to get it to stay to such surfaces a very strong adhesive would be needed.

You can screw the boards down, just make sure where you are putting the whole. Self taping screws kind of look like they have a split tip.
I am thinking of a nice fiberglass mold. That would be the perfect fit.

I have no clue at all how to use fiberglass, but my friend does. With enough hamburgers, I can persuade him to help me. And with the materials to do the fiberglassing... Well my friends dad owns a fiberglass company... I can get cheap raw materials i believe he said. He did the whole floor of his mustang in fiberglass! O well... I'll see whats up, I'll check around to see where I'm screwing, thats most likly the route I'm going.

why not use a liquid adhesive? i.e. F26, liquid nails, gorilla glue, etc. since you're drilling into the fenderwells the self-tapping screw would be fine too, but it's still the point of drilling holes in the fenderwell.

i wouldn't use velcro for the amps. it gets hot in a trunk and when it warms up the weight from the amp will make the velcro fall. so your amp will fall everytime the glue on the velcro gets gooey....which will be almost everyday this time of year. using velcro on the speaker box might work, but it's not going to hold it down as well as a screw will :)

velcro will hold an amp vertically on the side if u want the easy option. i had it set up like that on my old car

velcro will keep it from sliding during normal accel. and brakeing, but sharp turns and hard stops will make it move some, i use it in my truck to keep my box from shifting around

if you use velcro, i advise walking into a sewing shop like Jo-Ann Fabrics (yes, suck up your manliness) and they should have some heavy duty velcro. (thats what i used for one of the mounts on a neon light of mine)
