Hey guys my friend is selling his 7 inch K & N filter to me for 20 $. I don't have the $$$ to get a good CAI so could I throw that on the end of my ribbed tubing for now to make a WAI?? I am talking about connecting it right to my MAF...

Just save the cash until you can afford a good quality piece.

i just slapped a cone filter (20 bucks autozone) on the end of my MAFS and it made a diff

Just slapping a filter on without the tubing will give you a small increase in power. But not much compared to the full kit. Most people think that the WAI help just as much because of the sound. It sounds alot meaner but really only gives a couple horsepower at most. IMO just hold out for the whole kit.

Even a full CAI won't give you crazy HP either. Unless you have the rest of the system done (headers, exhaust, etc) you won't get the most out of your intake. Anyways, you will get only around like 5HP from the intake anyways. If you want a couple of HP for $20 for the time being, go ahead. I would save up your money though and get a CAI, you'll be more happy than with just a WAI. :)
