Amen....just playing. I am fine right now. I am swamped with a new life completely....new job, new girlfriend, new additions to the car (underglow, subs, sound deadening (dynamate)), and college. Not to mention the body kit i keep fixing up and switching around. So these bars aren't doing much, lol. Maybe they'll help when i put the northstar or the 3800 Supercharged, but who knows.

GOD, a Northstar would be sweet!
Congrats on all the new additions. I mean these bars are minimal compared to a job, girl or school man. Enjoy it how it comes, and to me it sounds like things are coming pretty damn good! :)

Yeah, I think I finally hit my nitch. Yeah yeah, getting mooshy here. But this girl has been my best frienf for five years, we know eachother front and back, but we have been waiting to date since I have been going out with this other girl for 2.5 years. But the other day, she went a little coo coo and tried to run me and my NOW gf off the road since her and I (the new gf that is) were going to go see a movie.
Just thought I would add a small weird story in here just to keep things interesting, lol.
And I hope what I just said makes some sense. If it doesnt, I can explain more in depth to amuse you all, lol.
PS- I am not a prick, lol. We dumped eachother a week before i went out with the new gf because all we did was argue all the time. I finally listened to everyone around me telling me she was not good enough for me, and I was not good enough for her (match wise that is), and I know she will find someone better than I. So don't take me to be some egotistical bastard who cheated on my gf, lol.

lol...made total senese...would love to hear the whole story for pure amusement...and I know where you're coming from with the ex and friends saying stuff like that...I'm in/was in the same boat. You just get comfortable
It's funny you go out wth someone for 3 years and all of a sudden when things go bad and you break up, with in days...new interests pop up EVERYWHERE! :D

Haha, naw, I've liked the girl off and on for a few years now. But this girl (now ex) argued and broke up with me all the time.
For the whole story, tune in tommorow. But for now, it's bed time, G'night all.

Ok, sitting in school really bored so here is the story.
This girl and I have been dating for about three years now. And after about 6 months of dating her we started to argue about every other week. It got really annoying breaking up week after week, but for 2 more years I put up with it. It drove me crazy!
So finally, last week I broke up with her for good. The story is, I was going out with my best friend, and she (gf) went a little psycho.
We were driving to the movie theatre and she decided to follow us. She called me on my cell and got really pissed. So then she tried to hit the back of my car, and I wasn't up for that game, so I slammed my brakes and she almost lost control of the car. She then, after i turned around really fast and lost her, turned around as fast as she could, and cut off a van. She then proceded to chase after me for about 5 minutes until i lost her. She has a civic, yes, but I am in the mid process of changing seats out, and my seat is not mounted, so it was kind of hard to keep it stable, lol.
Snap, teacher is being a bia and telling me to turn it off. I will continue on later with the story. There is really not much left, lol. But you get the general idea.

Anyone else see anything hit their cards yet? I had a preauthorization come through for this comming monday that's roughly the amount I expected RSM to take out $192 (was expecting 194... but who knows with the whole currency thing). Not saying its them (cause I pay no attention to what I spend), just wondering if anyone had the same thing happen.

Yeah that does suck. It's funny how out of NO WHERE, the money is being taken out. I still haven't heard a thing about when the will be done, unless they are done already? Wishful thinking I guess. I'm going to try and call tomorrow and see if I can get a hold of Craig.

I know I would have been mad if that happened to me. Something like an email, or even a post on here by RSM should have been done to notify everyone that the payments would be coming out on a specific date. That way there wouldn't be any issues such as this.

I've ordered plenty of stuff off of the internet and even phone in to place an order with other companies..........never have i received a phone call or anything saying at this time and date you will be charged/billed. When they do the paper work, they do the paper work. If bought something that's $500, I know to keep atleast $500 for that product. Comprende vous????

Jeesh, I don't see why everyone has a problem with this. I fully understand the issue, it's a little different when the payment won't come out for weeks (we are not talking days like a normal order). It would have been the right thing to do for a company to notify a user before charging them in a situation like this. No harm no foul, but I just get confused by some of your opinions...

Snap Babalouie,
It's just the fact that I have been keeping it in there for about a week and a half now. Expenses do come up, I am sorry. Don't get upset. I understand a few days, but that was 1.5 weeks. Never have I had a company wait that long. Just throws off everything. Bills, Gas Money, etc. Jeez.....snappy.

If i had to keep $500 in an account for a month, never knowing when they were going to take it that would really piss me off. I think that is about how long it took. That is rediculous. sometimes you just think well, its not out yet so whats the chance it will be out tomorrow, i'll just make a deposit tomorrow. You shouldn't have to guess. All I have to say is...look at ther website. It currently says...
All STB prices are the same price for all years. (92-98 & 99+)
US - $80/bar
CAN - $100/bar
take off the 25% discount
US - $60/bar
CAN - $75/bar
for 2 bars
US - $120
CAN - $150
plus taxes and shipping (if applicable)...
No one ordering 1 or 2 STB's should be paying over $202.50! The most it should cost is $202.50 Canadian (2 bars+15% tax+$30 shipping). Not sure what the exchange to US would be... Something around $170 (for all the listed above).
All of these #'s are straight off of their website.
JMILLS

nice96gt
09-14-2004, 06:34 PM
Shouldn't matter. If the prices change before they even make the product, they SHOULD change what they charged you accordingly.

JMILLS
09-14-2004, 06:56 PM
90 + 90 + 40 (Motor Mount) = 220
- 25% on all items = 165
+ 29$ shipping = 194
I was charged 192 (which I assume is jsut because of fluctuations in the exchange rate). If it had been 80, I woulda paid 179

09-14-2004, 07:01 PM
Oh well, I guess it's only $13...But still, $13 is $13

I agree totally. Craig was telling me that they didn't expect the numbers they got and with the move it just made things more difficult. Craig is a great guy and he's trying to accomodate everyone that he can, which I think is awesome. It's nice to know what to expect from him when you call.

I called them yesterday. You'll get the same answer if you call today tomorrow or probably even Friday, which is they aren't ready. The move and large quantity of bars ordered has put them back and they can not guarantee a date when they will be available. Craig told me that they will do their best to get them done as soon as they can. They wouldn't take out money and not ship them for a month so I'm sure it will be relatively soon.

Craig is a great guy. IF you guys ever have a problem/concern/question, Craig will go out of his way to help you in a nice honest manner. I've seen him help some people big time and he did it because he wanted to and likes too. If RSM made a boo boo, just call Craig and address the boo boo to him and he will fix the problem a.s.a.p. If you don't call him, it can't be solved! By the way, there was a huge huge..........did I mention huge order of strut bars before this group order that kinda wiped them out of inventory. Don't worry, we haven't been forgotten. And like I said, now that I have a group order system developed with them, the next future orders will have new rules (nothing bad) which will get everything organized, paid and shipped a.s.a.p. cus I love you guys!!! hahaha :)

09-16-2004, 10:04 PM
First off, I would like to say thanks for organizing this again.
Second, I believe everything Babalouie said about Craig is true.
Third, I have had many unexpected expenses come up over this extended limbo period (Hurricane Frances - Screw you.), and still did not cancel my order because I made a commitment that many weeks ago.
Fourth, I am very disappointed that RSM has charged credit cards and made withdrawals before shipping the product. One or two day grace period sure, but I was told that the credit cards were processed this past weekend, and four days later, there is no estimated ship date.
I realize they are processing orders and had a larger order come in before ours. That's understandable. Charging a credit card with not even an estimated ship date isn't my idea of good business, especially if they are still manufacturing the bars.
Just my opinion.
Babalouie
09-17-2004, 04:50 PM
No problemo! I'm always here to help. I think I have an explanation for your forth comment. The reason why they process the credit cards before the shipping the product is for 2 reasons. If you ship out the product without payment, then you just got yourself a free bar! Second reason has to do with the whole group discount. Everyone on the list must be paid before bars are shipped, this prevents "fake lists". For example, someone could submit a group purchase list for a Supercharger, get the discount and pay right away.........Now, the rest of the people don't even exist, and RSM has gave you a discount that was intended for a minimum of 10 sold units. You got the discount, and RSM didn't get the customers promised. Know what I mean???

Those are perfectly great reasons to charge before shipping. If you were to charge for those reasons, you would have the product on hand ready to ship. You charge the people, when it's accepted, and the minimum purchase quantity is reached... You ship them. Since everyone called in with their payment information, this processing and charging could be verified in one day. Product ships within a couple of days at the absolute most.
That scenario is vastly different from a company charging everyone six days ago with no product to ship, and even worse, not even a projected ship date, which will imminently be over a weeks time between charging and shipping. Furthermore, this prevents a company from charging a customer and having to deal with very bad public relations if unforeseen delays in production arise.
I hope you understand that I'm really not a bit.ching and whining type of person. I run a business as well, and understand the precautions a business must take to maintain profitability. However, I am also a customer with certain expectations, who does research on a business's feedback. You will find one of the most common complaints against a company is charging when out of stock and backordered.
I am grateful to have received a wonderful discount on the STBs, but it shouldn't have to be at the sacrifice of good business practices.
Also please note that my comments are directed at the PROCEDURE being used, not the Company or Craig. Craig seems like an incredibly helpful representative of RSM, and RSM is obviously customer oriented if they were willing to allow us to set-up a group buy of this magnitude.
At this point, I'm just hoping I get to put in my STBs before my car gets crushed by a damn tree. (All of us Floridians are on edge from the barrage of hurricanes, please excuse the mess.)

I just wanted to followup on my previous posts.
In a personal, unsolicitated email, Craig from RSM gave me an update a few days ago keeping me informed on the status of the bars, which was more than enough to aleve my initial "we'll call it 'unease'" for lack of a better word.
RSM, which for me is Craig for all sakes and purposes, seems to be a stand up company which is doing everything it can to fulfill a large order with a quality product. (although I still stand by my opinion on pre-charging)
Anyway, RSM/Craig's email to comfort one man's whining is more than enough for me to say, Yippie Skippy. RSM is cool.
Just wanted to give them a fair shake.
btw, I really needed some nice attention. After sending a 3 paragraph email to FedEx about a shipment they screwed up for me, I received a canned email with the tracking information from their website pasted into it. Thank you FedEx for not reading my email explaining how your own personnel admitted to screwing up, and not doing anything about it.

Ok.....the last order was place on 08-23-2004, and wow...to my surprise, its freaking 9-28-2004......I mean come on.......it doesnt take that long to get pieces of metal together. Especially for this order, no way in hell are these things that complicated. I'm going to call the bank in two days if they haven't been shipped, and get my money back.

I know that sounds drastic, but I feel that same way at this point. I don't like having my money out there and I think that RSM should be communicating with the Buyers, not through "he said, she said, I saw....".

I agree with you two in the sense that is would be frustrating having the money been taken with not much progress. I live right near RSM so I haven't paid any money yet since I will be paying when I go to pick up my bars, maybe this is why I'm not as stressed out as you guys are.
I was at RSM a week and a half ago and met with Craig. He explained to me that because of the move they were behind and that they would do their best to complete this order. He then showed me the machine shop where everything takes place. They were still waiting on a couple of machines to come in so they could continue with making the plates. The bars were there and everything was on hold until the plates are done. Last Thursday I talked to Craig on the phone and told me that everything was almost complete. I personally don't know how much longer it will be but hopefully within the next week. I know it is hard since it's not my money, but please try to become too hostile towards Craig/RSM. If you had met up with him like I did, you would have a different opinion on the matter, trust me. Bobby is also doing his best so don't take it out on him. He can only do so much and the rest is out of his control. I am just saying this because I want to see this go over smoothly, even though there have been a few bumps in the road. If everyone can hold on for just a little bit longer, things will be completed soon. :)

I am not going to "hostile" but at this point I am planning on contacting Craig/RSM and explaining that I don't believe that a company should do business like this. All we ever hear is "blah blah blah, sometime soon hopefully" which really doesn't help. When I purchase items that cost hundreds of dollars, I expect some sort of contact back from the company, with status, expected ship dates etc. I paid 2 weeks ago and haven't heard so much as an order confirmation from RSM.

I think you should contact Craig and talk to him, he may help to justify some of these issues. I totally agree with you about communication. I think that it's a key part when purchasing something, and especially through the internet. It's extremely important when you are trusting someone with a credit card or whatever. I would have expected some kind of confirmation other than on here if I were in your position also. 2 weeks is along time especially since it's such a large amount of $. It's easier for me since I could just show up and resolve any issues, but I would definitely call up Craig and talk to him. He will straighten anything out for you.

Sorry for the delay, I've been out of power from the hurricane. I've actually taken my computer and such to my sister's house about 200 miles away because I won't have power for at least another week. Crashing there for a while.
I have no idea which Fed Ex it was. I think it was Fed Ex Ground, but not sure if it's courier or freight. They have treated me like crap in addressing a problem that their people created. Never using them again.
On another note, Kudos to www.overstock.com. They IMMEDIATELY corrected the problem even though it was FedEx's fault and not their's. Sent me a replacement item at their cost without any hassle to me. Even said that if the original order shows up, I can keep it. How's that for service?

Hey this isn't so bad. I was on another group buy for my CAI and that took almost 3 months. Hey It's the way group buy work. first you have to pay for the product. then they have to make it(or order it) to the proper numbers. then they have to ship it. Well the only thing that really was out of the ordinairy was the moving buildings. I mean that could of been told to us, that this might cause a delay. Hey, I mean at least RSM is a reputal company. So there like no worries of "take the money and run" syndrome. Oh well It's 1 am and I have to head to work.

Man, I think some people aren't following what happening here. If I was told when I made my payment that it would be a few months, then sure... I would have no problems.
When I paid I was told that the only thing that they were waiting for was everyone to pay before they could "ship" the items, not make them.
I was also told that they would not charge me until they were ready to "ship".
And lastly, RSM has made no efforts to contact the buyers to let them know anything. I hate having to repeat myself, but some people think that we are upset that its taking so long and that isn't even 10% of the problem here.

Not to come across ignorant but I hope you're not refereing to me. I'm just trying to help justify the situation. I understand 100% as to why you're frustrated. I wouldn't be happy with the way things have gone either.
The only reason that I could see RSM charging you the $ before making the bars is so they would be guaranteed that everyone on the list is definitely going through with it. I'm sure they don't want to make 35 bars and find out that only 10 end up being bought.
I also haven't paid attention to when or what shipping details were mentioned since I'm picking mine up. I'm also paying cash when I go so I don't have the $ withdrawl issue. Since my payment and pick-up method is different from yours, I haven't really followed the details on what was said or when. I'm sure you are right when it comes to these problems, but like I said before, I would call and talk to Craig, maybe he can answer your questions/problems.

Are you guys all going to be in Albany next year?? I hope cus apparently I met most of you guys, but I remember you guys by face and not nickname. In order to improve this group buy system, you have to send me the pro's and cons. This will help better the both the consumer and the supplier. Since I will be hosting more group buys, I'd appreciate the feedback from you guys. This is/and is going to be by system, and not RSM's. I take responsiblity for the people ( you guys) and for the company (RSM). Yes, the middle man!!!!!! yay. So if you want to say the system sucks.............(which I hope u don't cus then I won't get your bar sent to you haha just kidd'n forget I said that) don't blame RSM, I'll take the heat for it. And blame me for giving them a 200+ bars group purchase before this one that helped put them behind! So send me the feedback! And when I see you guys at Albany, we'll all have a couple beers and shoot the shit!! take care guys.

You know, I really don't think this is anyones "fault". I am a business man and I have a very high expectation of anyone who I do business with. Sometimes people and companies don't give the 110% that I expect, but what this really all comes down to is 1 thing. "Communication is the key!" the customer (us) needs to be kept informed of everything that is happening or going to happen by the company (RSM). Order Confirmations, Invoices and Order Status Updates are all things that should have been made available. I have never paid for something by credit card before and not gotten at least a confirmation. Heck, I don't even know if my order is right at this time... all I know is what my bank tells me.
I have a lot of feedback about this particular group buy, but I think its all been said many times in this thread. Clear prices, Let us know when we are going to be charged, give us actual shipping deadlines, etc etc etc.
and yes I was in Albany and will be every year :D

Well that's great that you disagree with us, but that doesn't help the situation. It gets a little annoying that everyone is praising RSM and nobody is trying to get things taken care of. I saved what $50 for this group buy and now I have been waiting, been lied to, gotten stressed out and had money taken from me unexpectedly and still have no product and no solid idea on when I will ever get it.... doesn't seem worth it to me anymore. And then for the group buy organizer to come on the boards and say "I disagree 100%" with our concerns... this is unbelievable.

I didn't say that I disagree with all of you're concerns. I just didn't agree with that comment. I'm trying my best to help get these bars out a.s.a.p. I am at the shop everyother day and I see the status of the order. Believe me when I say they are trying their best to complete the order. I'm not using this as an excuse but RSM does not have 15 guys working on some crazy assembly line. And the bars don't take 1 day to make. Not making accuses of trying to "attack you", just bringing that up. I have been taking everyones concerns to consideration to help make this situation and future group buys for the best of everyone. I have also taken a lot of comments to heart. I don't want to be on bad terms with anyone, and I hope people aren't holding me resposnible for anything that they disagree with. (I'm not saying that you are blaming me), I just hope that people think that anything that is negative is my fault.

I could be just as ticked off as evereyone else, but it's not worth getting all stressed out about, but that's only MY opinion, I know you may feel different about it. It's funny because when you look at the people who have been in this discussion for the last little while, it only includes about 1/3 of the people included in the group buy. I can see how that would be an outlet...good thing he didn't do it to your car!
About the bars though...I really couldn't tell you. I was in the shop and saw the bars and stuff. This whole waiting process has been on the mounting plates. They are creating them from scratch. I think there's only 1 or 2 people who work on the bars so it will take longer than just running them through a cnc machine or having 10 people working on them. Otherwise they could do them in a day. I wish I could have said that they were done earlier, but the 99+ seem to get their stuff before us older gen cars...always been that way. I don't know why...

Yeah, "restocking" fees generally cover the costs to return the item to the condition that it is before it was shipped. Where this item has not been shipped you are entitled to a 100% refund, no matter what the company says. If you paid via credit card, they will back you on this. You are not returning an order, you are cancelling an order.

Im thinking 99+? Lots of bars isn't "all the bars". Not really trying to make more trouble, but too many times have we been hit with very general statements that make us think our stuff is comming, when its not.

When I called to confirm way back when the guy I talked to said they would be shipped out that friday and that was months and months ago. Also I gave him my email address so he could email me and tell me when the payment would be processed (never happened) and also to give me a tracking number (probably won't happen). I will be surprised if I get this before the new year.

You know, it is getting really pathetic. A company I work for can produce a 8' by 8' model, fully detailed, all completely from scratch, in less time than these people can repetitively make something that they have been making for a while. I mean, what is there deal? Seriously, they have till Monday, and then it’s done. And if they try to pull the restocking fee, they can speak to my lawyer because they haven’t even been produced yet, more or less shipped out to even have to be “restocked.” Never again will I buy anything from them. This just sucks. And unlike Jmills, I am trying to cause trouble.
We've been lied to and misdirected way to long, and it's getting out of hand.

After speaking with both Craig and Nelson about my SWAY bars they still don't have a due date for the rear one so I've asked them to cancel the order. No sense in getting only a front bar or anything really now that winter is just around the corner.
That's over three months after my CC has been charged. Hopefully I won't have too much of a problem getting them to refund my CC. They've never initiated a contact with me either. I've always had to call or email to get feedback.
I have been less than impressed with how things are run over at RSM. One would think that after so long in the business they'd have some sort of customer service process figured out...
Hopefully you guys are luckier than I was...

If they are mailing them out now, you will get yours soon, especially since you are in Ontario. Everyone else will get theirs soon also. I have to wait like everyone else and I'm picking mine up, so stop complaining already. Sorry if I sounded like an ******* there, but I'm kinda tired of everyone complaining constantly. I'm in Florida, further away. It'll be my luck they got the count of the bars wrong, and I have to go four more years without them.
I was told by rsm that I would get an email w/ tracking number as well. I haven't gotten one, so maybe mine hasn't shipped anyway.
At this point, I really don't care. They've had my money for OVER A MONTH. Any *****ing is pointless, and I'm all cried out. I'll get'em when they show up at my door. Hopefully, there won't be a hurricane coming through to blow them away.

Oh, and not to make your day any worse and all ;)...the 3100 is really tight when you're trying to install the front bar. You won't be able to to just bolt it on. I have mine installed, and I came up with a good solution. The bar goes in freely without having to put a lot of pressure on it to install it. Here are a few pics of the new front strut bar...I have also included some troubleshooting details on the install. :)
http://www.geocities.com/ryangfranklin/enginebay.jpg
Is that one a little blurry? lol
http://www.geocities.com/ryangfranklin/blurry_closeup.jpg
The driverside is the easiest to do, so get it done first. I remove the bracket that was already on the strut tower, set the RSM bracket in place then put the factory bracket on top. I figured this would cause less flexing of the mounting plate when I tightened it down. You may have a little trouble getting the factory bracket to fin on over the RSM one, but mine went after moving it around a little bit. Or you could just grind off the corner that’s rubbing. Bolt it down.
http://www.geocities.com/ryangfranklin/driverside_mount.jpg
Next go to the passengers side. There will be a big wiring harness in some wire loom coming out of the firewall. This is in the way since it pushes against the heatercore. To give yourself some room, remove the relay bracket that’s on the strut tower, unscrew the 2 little screws holding the relays to the large bracket and place the bracket part to the side (you won’t need this any more). For the time being, I just hooked the relays over the edge on the fender and left them there. Eventually I will clean up the little brackets, maybe grind the one edge off of them and screw them down, but for now they will just sit there. They don’t interfere with the hood so if you are just going to hang them like I did, don’t worry. Tuck the wire loom down between the heatercore and the strut tower. You can bolt the other RSM mounting plate down now if you want. Next you must unattach the wire harness plastic cover from whatever it is attachet to at the top towards the alternator end. It’s held on by a plastic plug. I just cut it off and it came loose. At this point, there may be 2 ways of doing it. You might be able you just put the bar on and pus it down against the plast cover. It may give you just enough room to work with. I wanted it to fit easily though and cut off the first 4 inces of it. That basically took away the big bulky part that was in the way. I used some electrical tape on some of the exposed wires and zip tied it to the other wiring harness that was right beside it. You really can’t even tell that the piece I cut off would even go there anymore. Put your bar on and you’re done.

There was a screw up initially, but they corrected the charge to my CC as soon as it was discovered. Maybe one fell through the cracks, or just double check your invoice with your bank/CC statements to determine if it's merely a matter of Candian funds vs. US funds.

I don't even know what the trunk looks like in a 99+ but I assume it's going to be close. JMILLS did a write-up on how he installed it. It's basically what I would be telling you. 96-98 Rear STB Installation (http://kwiktech.myip.org/stb/stbrear.htm). I know it's for a 96-98 but it should be very similar to the 99+. Good luck.

ok, basically each side of the tower has 3 stems in the back, but only one of the stems actually has a nut on it.. so.. i took that nut off, placed the mounting bracket over the 2 stems it goes over, then replaced that nut, and put one of the ones that came with the brace on the other stem, and tightened that one down.. same thing with the other side, then put the bar in.
Thing is, the brace is no where near flush with the top of the tower. it's sturdy and all, but I just have a feeling i'm doing something wrong, I glanced over the install for the older years and people mentioned taking off the mountain place.
so yeah, any thoughts.

It sounds like you have it in properly. Post up a question about it and I'm sure someone with a 99+ will have an answer for you. I don't know what else could be done differently. Is there any way it could be on backwards? I'm just throwing out ideas here.

I didn't think it was. Well at least you'll know what problems you'll have trying to make it fit. I would suggest moving the fuses for sure. I would take the time and grind the top lip thing off of them though, paint them and bolt 'em down. The plastic piece though is totally up to you whether you want to cut it off or not. A lot of people don't cut it off. I did because it was just easier than trying to play with it.
JMILLS
10-25-2004, 10:51 AM
With my plastic piece I popped the top off, removed the wire harness from it. Then there was a single clip holding it near the strut tower, so I pulled it off that. Then I placed the wire harness back in the channel and threw the top back on. Now everything is still protected in the plastic channel, but the channel is able to be pushed down for the STB installation. I tend to like to do as little extra modification as possible.
As for the fuse mount, I plan on grinding out a section of it so the it will fit back in the stock location, I'll let ya know how it goes.

I have a 2003, and just put my bars in today. All I can say is WOW to the difference. I really didn't think the difference would be that noticable.. It's an amazing difference for me. Money well spent. The quality of the materials seems to be top notch!
The front bar went on without any modifications or relocating of any standard equipement. Took off four nuts, fiddled with the bar to get the fit correct (I had to remove two of the nuts on the actual bar to make it fit, but the two nuts are to lock down the bar to prevent twisting which shouldn't be a problem anyway.) Total time for the front bar was 15-20 minutes tops.
The rear bar was much more of a hassle. I put the car up on jack stands which allows you to get underneath wheel wells. The bolt closest to the rear of the car is removed by going into the wheel well of each tire. Feel for the bolts around the strut. You'll need a long socket extension as well. Then replace that bolt with the one supplied by RSM.
Then, inside the trunk, at the top of the strut are three bolts sticking up (including the one you just replaced). One of them has a nut on it, remove it. Then match up your strut bar plates over the two closest bolts. You'll have to take them on and off to adjust the fit. It's a pain in the ass. One of the bolts on my car has a thick washer looking thing that is attached to the body of the car. This prevents the STB plate from laying flat. So I just tightened it down right over it. Seems to have worked fine. Once you get it on all four bolts, put on the nuts and you're all good. I had to repeatedly adjust to make it fit though. Total time was probably 50 min.
On both bars, you'll also want to tighten the brass colored bolts/nuts at the pivot joint. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it. This requires a Hex wrench or vise grips is recommended.
I installed both by myself.
Again, this is an amazing modification for the price. I can take curves a full 10-15mph faster than I could before. Accelerating hard and turning onto a main road feels much stiffer (less body roll/lean ?terminology?) Bounce over speed bumps is dampened. All very noticable. I'm VERY happy with the purchase.
THanks for setting it up again Babalouie, I would have never made this purchase without the group buy being set up.
