Well, it would be for 1999+ (I assume) but AFAIK all 1999+ are the same regardless model or engine configuration :)

OK I have an update. I spoke with the company. Minimum 10 bars have to be sold. So it could be 5 people with 2 bars each for example. The discount is 25% off. You guys have to send me a list in lets say 2 weeks of everyone that is in for sure. From there, I will send the list to RSM. When I do that, I will inform you guys. It is up to you then to phone RSM and place your order. Sign in, in other words. The order will NOT be processed until everyone have placed their order. Understand?? Questions????

By the way, one last whinny question. Never had to deal with a strut bar before. How hard are they to put on and take off? Is it as easy as unscrewing the bolts above the shocks, or is more involved?

Basically yes. I've heard of some people having difficulties since there is a large group of wires and connections towards the passengers side strut tower. Other than that, they're strictly bolt on. :)

I help my friend place his back on after he intalled his headers. Quite simple. just unscrew the nuts on top of the strut. place the bar on and screw the nut's in place and ajust the bars. the rear bar help to keep the rear end from flexing .

The front and the back cost the same amount. They are both $99 CAD before the discount. Take the 25% off and they are about $75 each. The more people we get, the better. We may even get a better deal.

Well this group buy ends at the end of the month so we aren't going to wait much longer. "IF" there turns out to be a larger discount, I doubt it would be anything over 30%. I mean even 25 is a good deal. I haven't heard of any numbers other than 25% so that's all I can say we are getting so far. If anyone else has heard otherwise (good resource for the info) then please share.

If you go to rsmracing.com you can find the original prices there.

But for your '94 it would be $99/79 (CAD/US) before 25% discount and $79/59 (CAD/US) after the discount. This is the price per bar.

I saw the ones by speed built from pfyc. they only connect by two bolts. they are quite nice. the rsm's connect to all three bolts. that buy the photo online from rsm's web site. For me I would prefer Rsm's cause there in Canada and no duty for me. For you guy's in the US they have a US location also. Plus I also like that were dealing directly with RSM. For speedbuilt you deal with pfyc. So if you needed any ?? answered if would be quicker from RSM than pfyc. Hey that my two cent.

On RSM's website they say that shipping for most items would be $29 CAD/USD. Just so everyone knows. Not sure if this is the price, but this is all I could find with some searching.

Would it not be easier to grab the list of names from this thread? Not sure if it is or not. Or do you do it that way for covering your a$$ purposes?

I agree. There are people who are interested and have put their names on the list that is on this thread, but I know for a fact that some people (even myself on occasion) don't read all of the replies so they may miss the one about the PM. I beleive taxs are included, not 100% sure though. the install is very easy, the front is just on screw some nuts on top of the stuts and place the bar and screw the nuts back on and adjust. less than a half an hour. the back not to sure, maybe some can elaborate on that.

There are some people from GrandsOntario that are interested. I'm trying to get them over here, but I don't have all the details to give them. I'll tell them to have a look over here but that's all I can do.

For some reason I think that the $$$ for the 99+ STB's in US $ is wrong on their website. Maybe it's just me. But when I looked at the Canadian $ for the 99+ it says $120. Yet the US one says $79. That doesn't make sense sice the currency conversion doesn't work out. I have been going by the Canadian $ since I'm from Canada, so here is what the estimated costs would be for you. I said estimated so don't quote me on this ok.

(All of the following info was taken from their website, plus a little currency conversion. Hope this doesn't confuse anyone :D )

Canadian $ (99+ front/rear)
without discount - $240 + shipping
with discount - $180 + shipping
converted to US $ (w discount) - $134.85 + shipping

US $ (99+ front/rear)
without discount - $158 + shipping
with discount - $118.5 + shipping
converted to Canadian $ (w discount) - $158.17 + shipping

As you can see, this doesn't work out. So I think you will be paying the one that is more which is about $134.85 US for both bars, plus shipping.

Yep, that would be correct. There isn't a better deal if you buy both over just one, but both would be at the discounted price. It would work out to be $207 including tax for both the front and back strut bar for a 99+ GA. :)

How do the quality of these compare to speedbuilt on pfyc??

I saw the ones by speed built from pfyc. they only connect by two bolts. they are quite nice. the rsm's connect to all three bolts. that buy the photo online from rsm's web site. For me I would prefer Rsm's cause there in Canada and no duty for me. For you guy's in the US they have a US location also. Plus I also like that were dealing directly with RSM. For speedbuilt you deal with pfyc. So if you needed any ?? answered if would be quicker from RSM than pfyc. Hey that my two cent.

Well, quite honestly what you can do is go to your local pep boys, get a can of primer and a can of gloss black spray paint (make sure they paints are for metal), and do it that way. You really can't beat this deal that is going on. 25% off is quite alot, and your definently saving some money!

Actually, there is 31. :P I agree with you totally on this one. At first I thought there will be nop problem getting 10 bars since everyone has mentioned that they are interested, buy you know how typical groups buys go, they don't. But as the numbers kept rising I was just amazed. Thanks to the locals here at GAOC and some of the guys over at GrandsOntario who have come in on this group buy. Anyone here who ordered a front strut bar for 98 SE or GT 3100 may have a problem installing it.

Im not sure if rsm racing makes there own strut bars or buys them from ractive. RSM's looks just like ractive.

I recently purchased a ractive front strut bar for my 3100 SE. It does not fit becuase some type of computer wiring harness is right in the way of the bar, and I couldnt find any way to move it.

Apon further research I found that 96-97 GT and SE's dont have that wiring harness there. They just a have an alternator cooling vent in its place. Im not sure if this computer wiring harness is only on the SE's and not the GT's. But when I called toucan industries(the maker of ractive strut bars) They said it was a typo and the strut bar should be for 96-97 Grand AM's only.

Like I said earlier the RSM front strut bar for the 96-97 Grand AM looks exactly like the strut bar that ractive makes. And could be the same thing. Just tying to clearify if they are the same(and possibly warning some people too).

Actually I think there's been a delay and we will be getting our STBs through Cafe Express now :D (inside jokesearch for posts on t-shirts if you wanna get the joke.)

Anyway, take it easy. We'll get our instructions soon enough. It takes a lot of effort to organize the logistics of such a large group buy (with ppl ordering in Canada for pickup, in Canada for delivery, in the US, etc.).

Relax, it's not like any of us have even paid any money. Let them set it up right and get the orders done right the first time.

Give him one more day. I agree with Dragonwings, in the sense that it does take time to get all of the behind the scene details taken that we don't see or hear of taken care of. I know everyone is getting impatient because the want to just have it is there...I know, That feeling has basically taken over. Give it one more day and if there isn't any response, which I'm sure there will be, I'll call RSM direct and find out what's going on.

Well this isn't as bad as the ID group by for there CAI. I've paid mine like on the beginning of july now I just have to wait till all the people has paid. were waiting on 3 people as I type. Man I just want my CAI. espcially Since I've already paid for it. But i'm waiting with patience. we will get the work soon enough.

Not custom, there are several 96's in ohio this color. It was built in 95 though. It is not the same color as the 95 blue though.

Ok sorry peeps for the dely, I was just waiting for anyone to get back to me incase there were any errors added to the list. Everything looks good. RSM will be getting the revised list on Monday. After Wednesday, it is everyone's responsibility to phone RSM (1-877-855-4920) and "sign-in". Tell them you are on the GAOC List. By signing in, you are going to confirm who you are on the list, place your order, and state your method of payment. At this time, they will not process your payment. RSM will ONLY process your order until EVERYONE has SIGNED-IN and have confirmed a method of payment. At this time, no bars will be shipped aswell. This prevents "Fake" lists. If you wanted to pick-up your bar and pay cash, you must still phone in, and notify them your about method. Any questions?? Let me know. Thanks

So does this mean that the bars will not be available till the "entire" list has been verified or just at least 10 bars? I'll be picking mine up, so I was just wondering when I will be able to do so. Phone them after wednesday, sign-up with them and let them notify that you are going to pick up and pay your bar. Take it from there with them. This procedure prevents fake lists. Not sure if you got the front and/or back, but each bar for your 98 would be $90 US + tax + shipping (I think it's around $29 US)

For 1 bar it would be around $126 including tax and shipping.
For 2 bars it would be around $223 including tax and shipping ($29...it may be more)

The shipping/overall price is a rough estimate since I really don't know how much it will cost since I'm picking mine up.
