I have the same model Car, where did you get the power for the unit at? When I had mine installed at Best Buy the tech had to tap into the power for the AC Control Unit, it didn't blow any fuses that way.

why would he have to tap into another power source? i only know of a few aftermarket headunits that need bigger power wires. but they need bigger, not different.
check all your connections. usually when something like this goes wrong when im trying it i completely disconnect everything and start from square one. in your case i'd unhook the harnesses, disconnect them from each other and start all over. then see where you're at. if the same thing starts happening again you're shorting out somewhere. in which case you need either a new power source or a whole new power wire run.

thanxs ralphie the reason i had to get it hooked to another power source is that the the stock wire harness on a 2002 and up do not have an accessory power wire connection so you have to either put it in to another source or put it directly in the fuse panel and that i did not no how to do.

Metra has a GM chime module (GMRC01) that eliminates the need to run a switched power wire to your aftermarket headunit in the newer GM vehicles. The Chime module runs about $65.00, and makes the job a billion times easier than the "T" harness and relocating your factory headunit to the trunk or whereever.

ok, i didn't know that. so that makes since. emily's 99 was so easy to install in.....very straight forward installation. which i dont think i've ever installed one that i thought was difficult. most problems i have is getting the radio actually out, the wiring has never gave me any problems :???:

yeah nineteen88 i priced that one too but here in canada that harness was going to cost me $150 and i really didn't have that much to spend so i went with the t harness yes it is really a pain to have to relocate the stock radio but man for 50 bucks i was willing to do it.
