i installed my eibachs yesterday and i love im but it seems that the front dident drop as much as the rear i was thinking it was probaly because the ecotec is such a light motor and the springs are made for a 3400 or the front springs are stiffer so they have to settle for a while before they get the full effect... any ideas?
also if they dont drop on their own could i cut them just a little to make up for the diffrence with out screwing every thing up? and how much should i cut to get .25 to .5 lower?
sorry if any of this is a repost...

Give them a week or so b4 you do anything because most springs have a settling time(time where it takes the spring to fully lower or compress) mine took a week or so b4 it finally dropped to its max.I WOULD NOT cut the springs, the spring will not sit flush inside the groove where it sits and you can have problems.I know you hear people cutting their springs but its not the best way to go,if you want to be lower you should go with a spring that will lower more. When you said the springs were made for the 3400 and not the 2.2,I think springs are actually made with the weight of the engine in mind.Did Eibach not have springs for the 4cylinder? Cuz when I got my Sprint springs the place asked if I had the 4cyl(2.4) or the v6(3100)

actually, the 3400 is lighter than the 2.4 but he has an ecotec... so that shouldn't make a difference... they probably just haven't settled yet.

yeah the ecotec weighs somewhere around 275 lbs im not sure on the 3400 but im sure its more... anyway i checked em today and it looks like the front droped alittle more so thats good now it sits almost level

How can 3400 be lighter than 2.4?

lol,i just read that again and saw that, yea really.A v6 being lighter then a 4 cyl??? Now the Ecotech I know is lighter then the 2.4,that would make more sense.

Well you know our cars are raked stock, and Eibachs are supposed to kinda "level" it, so it makes sense to drop the rear more.

yea the 99+'s do have their ass' up there alright....I guess it wouldn't be bad to try and level the rear with some Eibach's,too bad you can't just buy two springs, have to buy a whole set of 4.

I dunno how your car would be with Eibachs just for the rear...you would have soft front springs and stiff rear springs...not a good idea.

The rear wheel gap looks good. I don't understand why a lot of people say they can't notice any difference with Eibachs...

haha this thread was while ago...
well it has been a few months and im sure its settled the front is still raised about a quarter inch more than the back but its not that noticeable unless i point it out (the lack of a wing makes the realr look alot lower anyway) but im happy with the springs and am going to keep it like it is...
there is a definate drop with the eibachs but its not a "slammed" look which i like, it could pass as stock untill its next to a stock GA which is actualy the look i was going for the "its not quite stock but i cant telll exactly what is aftermarket" look to the exterior
(i have also removed the side moldings, badges and added some chrome exhaust tips to further the look, the plate filler is now white)

Actually even with Eibach's, my rear wheel gap is still huge. I installed them about 4 monthes ago, so they should be settled by now.
You can notice the drop, especially when you line up against other stock GA's, but the drop isn't big enough for anyone to say "Hey, that car is lowered." I kinda regret getting these springs, but then again, I really don't want to worry about scraping like my friend, who has Intrax for his GA.
