well i have a 99' grand am gt and i have finally decided to go with an air suspension setuip. i've read through some of jordangt's replies but still am unsure about what exactly to do. i don't need a fast setup. i just wnat to be able to lower it and raise it whenever i want. i dont' need it to dance. my dad is a body man so making my own mounts is no problem. my goal is to be able to get it to sit on the ground or close when lowered fully and be able to raise it up for daily driving.

- i know that i should go with a 10 or 12 gallon tank (whatever fits between wheel wells)
-then for valves from air lift
- air springs on the rear

i am unsure of whether i should go with air struts on the front or air cylinders and what brand?? and what exactly si the difference? advantages/disadvantages of each?

also what brand air springs for the rear?

what brand compressor and tank?

for valves should i go with 1/2 inch or 3/8?

what brand lines/hoses should i go with?

Try driving a car with air bags before doing this , i hear it's not great for daily driving and good springs will give you better handling anyway . ( Just my opinion ) ..:D

your right Colin,hehe..I've ridden in a few cars with air ride, its not a harsh ride but it can be bouncy, like a bouncing up and down on one of those big round rubber ball things with the handle. Some systems are different, usually determined by either air bag or air cylinder(air strut basically) I know of a company that makes different setups for the Grand Am's and think they are fairly priced...
