I painted some vinyl pieces of my interior with vinyl paint and sprayed a few coats a clear on it to protect it and give it a shine but........ 3 days later the clearcoat is still sticky. Has anyone had this happen before and will it ever dry????????

well i painted my interior well alittle to much i didnt use primer if you use the good interior paint you shouldnt have to. I didnt but the stickiness i had when i use krylon on my center councel. one week and its still sticky i recommend redoing it cause the stickiness will attract dirt. if its been 3 days and still sticky i think it will stay that way.

Best thing I could suggest, is remove the existing paint and start from scratch. I pulled every accent piece off of my GA, hand washed it to assure there was no oil or silicon from armorall on any piece. Then went down to a paint shop (For those in the Wichita Falls TX area Arnies Paint) and had them make some vinyl paint and can it in a spray can. I haven't had to ever worry about clearing it, nor have I had to worry about scratches.
Something to note however, is you may want to test spray something before you go all out, if the paint you lay wrinkles, continue cleaning. Also, using harsh paint removers, may damage your accent pieces. I learned that when cleaning up some paint lines on my electric window switches on the drivers side.
I used krylon plastic kote. It takes time to cure. I didnt use primer....its fine now...took a while to cure...like 2 weeks.
I suggest leaving the pieces in a place to completely dry for at least a week before installing them....or spend more money on other stuff.

I used rust-oleum professional high performance enamel. No primer, many coats (5 or6). Dried overnight after painting all day. not sticky. I haven't used a clear coat yet but you can see it at my cardomain site. Did it two months ago no problems.
